Where have you heard this song?
2I was recently watching the movie Run Lola Run (a.k.a. Lola Rennt) for the first time, and I heard this song in it:
The thing is, I know I have heard this song before. I know this because I knew the lyrics “do, do, do the right thing” and “on what is set to be a union of the heart” before they occurred in the song.
I tried searching the internets for all the places where this song, Running Two by Franka Potente and Tom Tykwer, might have occurred, but I came up drastically short. My brain thought it may have been in one of the Matrix movies or soundtrack compilations, but I couldn’t find any source corroborating those thoughts.
Is it possible that I’ve just heard this song randomly enough for me to absorb lyrics from it, or am I missing its use in some independent YouTube film project or something? It’s driving me mad!
Any help would be appreciated.

I know nothing about music; however, IMDB leads me to believe the song was written specifically for that movie: “As well as writing and directing the film, Tom Tykwer also composed the techno music which features star Franka Potente on vocals.”
@cengland0 I believe you are correct, the song was developed specifically for the movie (the girl that sings in it is the movie’s titular star). I just know I’d heard the song used elsewhere (but before I saw the movie). Thanks for the info!
This sounds very similar to a song from the Matrix soundtrack… Wow. I got the vibes right away. Probably helps that I’ve listened to it recently.
@RiotDemon Right, the song feels like it would be right at home on a Matrix soundtrack, but search as I did and I couldn’t find any tangible link. Thanks for trying.
@SirLouie the specific song I linked has very similar beats and the one spot of the song has similar tempo in the vocals. When I listened to your song at the beginning I thought it could of been a remix of the song on the matrix soundtrack.
This is probably not helpful but I believe I first heard the song on this Meh thread.
@djslack Day 432. I have followed the comment in this thread recursively, but I am no closer to a solution. (points, by the way, for the unhelpful but funny reply)
It was in this European commercial:
@RiotDemon I hadn’t seen that commercial before, but thanks for the reference! Great spot.
