@narfcake Eh, I didn't interpret it as paying. I get a LOT of free swag at various conferences I attend. What? Free pen, t-shirt, grocery bag, USB charger? Couldn't care less who you are or what it says, I'll use it!
I must say my favorite was this one company... they gave me a free shirt, and if I took a selfie of myself wearing it in front of a sign, they would give me a $20 Starbucks gift card. I didn't even have to DO anything with said picture, just take it and show it to them. THAT was some good swag.
Depends on if I'm buying or free. If it's free and something I'll use who cares what it says. There's always a sharpie or duck tape if it really bothers me. Unless, of course, it is for some group or cause/ideology that I disagree with.
If I'm buying depends on the deal, the item and how cool the name is. meh.
If it's free and useful, bring it. Well, even then there are disqualifying factors. Like, I really don't look good in pink. And I'm not sure I would want political ads emblazoned on anything of mine. But then there's paint...
If the item is useful, and they're free, and I don't object to being associated with the brand promoted, then yes. I know a guy who drove a "wrapped" car for a while, and I'd consider that, if it meets the prior criteria.
If the item is offered at a discount, in exchange for the branding, that's a maybe. So many variables.
If the item fetches a premium for the branding, like those lizard shirts, then probably not.
I am in the "well it depends" group. Price, company, usefulness all matter to a certain extent. I will use most products. If I do not like the logo it may not be used in public and is unlikely to be purchased.
I never seem to connect with that stuff. I don'T even have a logo shirt for the days I'm supposed to wear a logo shirt to work. Usually if there's a feeding frenzy around the freebies you can be sure I'm going the other way.
I have a few items with the DEC ( |d|i|g|i|t|a|l| ) logo that I wear with pride (and sorrow at how that company got destroyed by incompetent management).
one T-Shirt from Simutronics Gemstone 2 online multiplayer game (~1988-1990 on the GEnie information service). I'd wear it but it shrank since then...
Our company wants us to wear logo'd shirts and jackets in the office or when we go to customer sites, but they keep the offices too warm so I can't wear mine.
I'd stencil an Arbys logo on the hood of a free Maybach.
As long as it dose not say "Portable Toilets" on it ANYWHERE!!!
@cthrift1980 better than potable I suppose
Paying for the "privilege" of advertising for a company? Uhhhh ...
All bets are off if I like you, though!

Depends on the name/logo and also on the price for the privilege of advertising.
With a name like meh and a comensurate cost, no problem.
It helps if it happens at the intersection of stupid and sarcastic.
I have worn branded underwear.
These ones, to be precise.
Preeeeety much anything Meh branded now. Why? Because of how silly it is.
That and because I like meh.
And because people seem to like the word, and since you usually don't put the site on it as well people just think of the definition.
But mostly because I adore Meh. :D

I do not support logo-ism. However I would like one of those logoshirts everybody in the future wore in the movie Idiocracy."
Aren't most items shipped w/ a logo? If not visible but on the tag somewhere?

As a modern developer, my wardrobe largely consists of tshirts give away by tech startups.
I have a lot of great random ones, but if there is one company that consistently delivers funny shirts time & time again it is splunk
