@Thumperchick Fireproof? Um .. wouldn't "waterproof" be better? And maybe "shark-proof" as a precaution. But wait! It that safe just a decoy so that burglars feed your fishies (a threefur)?
In a safe deposit box in a bank that will remain known only to my wife and me. Its in one of six branches in my area. Access is protected by a password and hand-print and you have to know which box it is.
If they wanted me to keep important documents safe, they should stop printing them on 8.5"x14" legal paper that doesn't fit in any normal lockable filling cabinet or in this diversionary safe or even in a neat pile with other papers on a desk or in a drawer or anywhere that might be remotely secure or even a little freaking convenient. So instead they sit on their side wedged between the filing cabinet and my desk for the last 7 years completely unlabeled and god knows if these are even the papers I think they are. Stupid weird sized documents. /endrant
I keep my physical docs in a fireproof safe. I'm extra anal about important electronic files (pics, docs, etc). I keep them on a computer with a RAID-1 array that is backed up to an external hard drive weekly. Once every few months I transfer the files onto a flash drive that I keep in the aforementioned safe. I used to burn the files to DVD and keep them in the safe as well but the price of flash drives has come down so much.
Thanks for the reminder, meh! I had a few title documents for my house lying around in random places. Now they are all scanned, filed, and backed up off-site.
When cleaning my basement I found a box set of the children's books called like Eragon or something. I left the books and put the cardboard sleeve in a bookshelf with a couple hundred dollars and an Alvin and the chipmunks cassette tape inside the sleeve. No one would ever want to read that garbage. I haven't checked the stash in years. I'm sure its still there.
@DaveInSoCal Yeah to be honest, I just spent ten minutes looking at all my book shelves and cannot find the sleeve in any of them. The cassette is the real loss.
Right.
You forgot.. "Hrmmm.. that's a good question!"
NOTE TO SELF: Look for vital documents in drawers
Should have been a don't know don't care until I need them answer
In a fireproof box in a safe in a shark tank.

@Thumperchick I hope the sharks have frickin’ lasers strapped to their heads.
@rockblossom Why would I need it to be waterproof? You have to worry about fire form the frickin' lasers on the shark's heads!

Wait... what documents am I supposed to be keeping "safe"? Besides passports and... i dunno... bonds?

@Harshfighter They were probably sold at a garage sale
