Ummmm, actually, they already have, but it will take a longgggggggggggg time for the ones I have to go bad. And even more actually, this is the “second generation” of socks that I transitioned to when they discontinued the previous non-Kirkland generation. The first gen socks were a long time ago, in a Costco far, far away.
PS - Am I wearing a Padres shirt or a Padme shirt in that picture?
@cfg83@chienfou@phendrick I’m guessing the same sort of thing. It seems everyone who is anyone (and some nobodies) has a podcast nowadays. Hell, I’m a producer of a big podcast myself
But I have a fancy pants GE washing machine that is specifically designed for pod use! It’s got an extra place just for pods.
@cfg83@chienfou@phendrick Indeed. The dryer/washer pair were on sale from Costco for about $1100 and have 10 year warranties so I don’t think I paid extra for the privilege.
Wash a load, finally, then leave it in the washer a few days. Have had to rewash, sometimes. After rewash, put it in the dryer, finally, then leave it in there, indefinitely. In the meantime, there is another load in the washer waiting.
Walk-in closet has enough variety that I could probably go a month without doing laundry. Generally wash a load when the appropriate sorting hamper gets filled. Always gets dried on the 30-ft solar clothes dryer. Able to put 2 loads out at a time and most times gets put away promptly when the basket(s) of clothes comes in off the line.
And yes… fragrance free is the way to go. We have a few of these type sheets that we take for travels but otherwise it’s Kirkland’s fragrance-free liquid.
@chienfou you’re like me, with more clothes than a single person needs.
I too only use fragrance free. The laundry soap I use is Puracy.
I just spent the last week installing a custom closet system. I put everything back in it yesterday.
@chienfou@kittykat9180 We have a large walk-in master closet. I get ~1/3 of it and my wife commands the rest.
No exaggeration, there are clothes and shoes in her side that I have never seen her wear in 35 years together.
@Star2236
I designed through easy closet and then a professional did the finishing touches.
They shipped me everything and I put it all up. The instructions were easy to follow.
@chienfou@kittykat9180 I think that when you are born you should be assigned a specific line of interoperable storage components that you use throughout your life. Something from the Container Store or IKEA.
@chienfou@kittykat9180 Egg-zactly, but if you have compatible container thingies, then you can expand over time.
The danger is if a line of container thingies are cancelled, but you still exist. At that point you have to worry about …
/showme Anthropomorphized goat with different sized storage boxes being arrested by the Container Police who are saying “You are under arrest for having incompatible containers!”
If you have kids; teach then how to do the laundry. Have them do it . Most of the laundry is their stuff anyway and it’s a life skill they will (most likely) use till they have kids or get rich enough to have the maid do it!
@jkawaguchi our son’s friends thought we were evil because we make them do their own laundry bar a few exemptions with school/sports. I asked him if he planned on living with his parents forever. He just looked at me flabbergasted. “Of course not!” I then asked who was going to do his laundry. And it hit him like a ton of bricks. But we feel this way about lost things with kids. We explain to them often that it’s not about control. It’s about responsibility and self sufficiency. Thankfully they’re a lot less challenging when it comes to chores these days.
@kittykat9180 we’re similar. I used to make the kids do every step. Lately with school and sports, I have to wash and potentially fold but they put it away as soon as they get home. They also help with switch loads over or washing extra bits which is helpful. Doing only one person’s laundry does sound dreamy though.
All washed up.
Always willing to give my wife positive feedback and thank yous.
Never not doing it…. Multiple loads every day. Three kids, four if you include the Englishman, and three dogs… yeah….
Fortunately, meh sells underwear and socks on the regular.
@therealjrn Or you could go to Daiso …
@cfg83
No thongs? I’m out.
@therealjrn Yeah, Daiso is pretty conservative. You can, however get a template online and use scissors to convert the ones they sell.
Ashamed to say “basically have baskets of clean clothes I live out of,” but slightly feeling better that I’m not the only one.
@mehvid1 You are not alone, slovenly one.
/showme Sloppy goat doesn’t fold his socks and is yelling “I Blame Society!” while room-mates look on with disapproval.
@cfg83 Here’s the image you requested for “Sloppy goat doesn t fold his socks and is yelling I Blame Society! while room-mates look on with …”
@cfg83 {getting defensive…} not slovenly! Clothes are clean, just mostly not hung up.
But I appreciate the empathy and the imagery.
@mehvid1 No problem here. I see no reason to fold socks. Then again, I was never a boy scout not have I attended boot camp.
@cfg83 respectfully differ w/ you on that aspect. I enjoy the menial task of matching socks and having pairs ready to go!
@cfg83
I like washing dishes by hand for the same reason, @mehvid1. It’s a calming, soothful task to me.
@mehvid1 No problem. I settled on one white sock type from Costco long ago, so all I have are “clones”.
@mehvid1 @therealjrn Washing dishes is good, especially if you can teach your cat to do it.
@cfg83 @mehvid1
/showme what happen to cfg83 when Costco discontinues his white socks.

@mediocrebot Holee sheet bot! I’m so sorry @cfg83, I’ll bring you over a six-pack…

Awe…they’re so adorable! I can always get more dishes…or maybe we’ll just switch to sporks and disposable plates.
@mediocrebot @therealjrn Just do what my Mom used to do. Get another stack of dishes from the thrift shop.

@mediocrebot @mycya4me Oh my goodness gracious me.
@mediocrebot Should we worry about this Boobie? …
@cfg83 @mediocrebot
@mediocrebot @mycya4me I could do a showme of Admiral Ackbra, but I suspect it’s already been done.
I’ll come clean: i do a podcast at least once a week. More often for the bed because my dog prefers clean sheets.
@phendrick

@phendrick @therealjrn

ISWYDT…
@chienfou @phendrick @therealjrn I am guessing pods in the washer. Pods are nice, if they don’t burst.
@cfg83 @chienfou @phendrick I’m guessing the same sort of thing. It seems everyone who is anyone (and some nobodies) has a podcast nowadays. Hell, I’m a producer of a big podcast myself

@chienfou @phendrick @therealjrn Wow, talk about product placement. I wonder how much Tide paid GE for that.
@cfg83 @chienfou @phendrick Indeed. The dryer/washer pair were on sale from Costco for about $1100 and have 10 year warranties so I don’t think I paid extra for the privilege.

Hanging rods, drawers, shelves, two built in hampers, and an 82” shoe shelf. I love it!!
I also used it as an opportunity to make a big pile for donation. It’s all sitting in my bathtub right now.
