I’ve managed to hit all the choices at one time or another.
(“Never visit family” is the current one, since they’ve all pretty much died off now. Except for my son, who lives in the same town as I, so when we visit, we each stay at our separate places.)

Over the years we have stayed in:
guest bedrooms
living rooms (sleeper sofa)
any available floor space (blow up mattress) separate free standing guest houses
tents
RV campers
neighbor’s houses and
hotel/airbnb/VRBO etc
depending on who or where we’re visiting.
prefer to stay in my own RV (camper on pickup truck). if they have a place to park that is all I need. plugging-in power is nice but not required. problem is some I would visit (in-law relatives; the only kind I have left) live in foo-foo « tract mansion » neighborhoods with huge low-quality houses with no driveway space or street parking, and probably HOA rules against it.
I’m still sleeping in the room I’ve been sleeping in since I was a year old. Checkmate.

Nightly… Or just when you visit family?
Hotel and then guest room.
I know where the motel is.
Drunk.
Where they tell me I can sleep.

On the floor in the walkspace at the foot of the bed
Different family have different living situations so it depends on who I’m visiting.
