@thismyusername The pillow I'm currently using has a 5 year warranty on it.. The MSRP was over $100.. But I got it for free in a combination of sales and kohls cash that my wife had.. I kept the receipt, and it's getting close to 5 years now.. I'm going to look to return it, since they said something like "more than 40% reduction in size" was justification to get it replaced.. It's probably 45% reduced.
This is disgusting and I would never admit it to any other group of people. I am in my 50s and I just found out about a month ago that you can wash a pillow.
@sammydog01 I have a front loader washer and it seems the pillow comes out new from that. I have heard you can throw tennis balls in the dryer with it to delump them but I have not tried that.
@Thumperchick No way! Her pile consists of rag bag shirts ... which is completely offset by what she uses for a "napkin" (Ramy shirts). I'm not one to deprive her of licking/slobbering on his turtles, bunnies, penguins, kitties, or others, though. I still try not to question why of all artists, but I guess between Woot, TeeTurtle, and LookCuter, at least I'll never run out of a source.
I'm still using pillows I've had for more than fifty years. I helped put the goose down in both of them. I wash them every few months. The ticking has held up just fine, thanks.
I also purchase those soft fiber fill pillows (usually from BB&B), and wash them about as often. Sooner or later, they quit fluffing up in the dryer, and they get opened up, and used for a stuffed animal or so. I think the last set I bought of those are about 8 years old (and they're still fine).
I have goose down pillows and have to use the big like tennis balls with them in the dryer.. Takes about 3 hours to get them totally dry. Thank you, for the reminder , cause I haven't done it for a while. Now, all I'm thinking is yuck! I have to sleep tonight on that pillow that needs cleaning!
I use a pile of shirts for a pillow. Much firmer.
@narfcake But do you have four or five extra shirts for that?
@sammydog01 I think I have a little more than that ...
Pillow makers say... every 6 months.
MONEY MAKING SCAM I TELL YA.

@SSteve Maybe I just buy cheap pillows, but they get all lumpy after I wash them.
@SSteve I've never had good luck with that. When mine get gross, they rotate to the dog beds (don't judge, they love it.)
@Thumperchick My dog has shirt piles for her bed.

@narfcake I can presume they're made of catshirts, right?
@darkzrobe I use dryer balls - similar concept. They don't quite work de-lumping or keeping them from lumping, though.

@darkzrobe you can use sneakers too. Nice clean sneakers.
When they have bedbugs. You definitely are going to want to get rid of your pillows if they have bedbugs.
@elimanningface sissy.
Wait, are you supposed to replace pillows?
when it.. crunches.
wait. that's gross.
unless it's full of doritos.
then it's awesome.

You can't have too many pillows.
I don't use a pillow. :)
@MsELizardBeth me neither but I keep them between the headboard/wall and me in a false security against spiders.
I use them until the only thing stuffing them is the accumulated skin cells from rubbing against my face while I sleep.
(Not really, but I do have a favorite pillow that is very old and not very fluffy.)
I'm holding out for a few of these.
@w_a_w I kid. Maybe.
@w_a_w I heard selling Japanese girls on the internet was banned. Must've been a rumor. Bet the tax is high.

just wash them in boiling water every so often
