@brainmist@brennyn I also live alone and never have guests. Lots of people work from home and are not necessarily inclined to go out and meet people. Have you met society? So IDK what’s up with the whole depression BS? Not everyone is an extrovert and that’s fucking fine
@brainmist@brennyn I don’t think it’s a dig and I assume it’s not intended as one. But seriously. Just cause someone doesn’t have people over doesn’t mean there is a problem. Might be a problem for them.
@brennyn@unksol
Same and I definitely don’t have depression. I’m not a big fan of peopling but I have a small group of friends/family around the country that I talk to regularly.
I also travel a lot. I’m leaving for a 6 week trip next week.
@brennyn@kittykat9180@Star2236 I just saw a news story about how concerts are so much more affordable in Europe. They said tix to see Taylor Swift could be bought for $100 in Portugal! So take a nice trip AND see a concert for what you’d pay to see it here! I bet Pink is in concert.
@brennyn@Kyeh@Star2236
I have seen her in concert several times. My first one was her Funhouse tour in 2008.
The resale market in Europe Is almost non-existent. I got VIP tickets both for Ireland and Poland. In Poland someone was selling their two VIP tickets outside the venue and were asking for both tickets what I paid for one.
@brennyn@kittykat9180@Star2236 Yeah, I guess they have strict rules about it in Europe. I wish this country wasn’t so phobic about any sort of regulation of business and commerce.
Does Pink still do acrobatics on stage?
@Pony Right now I wish I could draw the outside air in way more than usual because it smells heavenly! Lilacs, irises, the neighbors’ roses and peonies, and various trees budding out. If only I could find something that really captures that scent.
@Kyeh Ooooh lilacs are my favorite! I just planted a few small ones out in front of our house. I look forward to when they grow up and perfume the air.
@Pony Oh, wonderful! Also my mock orange just opened 1 blossom - I’m looking forward to that. The daphne bush bloomed earlier last month and that one is divine too. They all do well here, in case you’re looking for more fragrant plants.
@Kyeh@Pony awww, i have a couple of dwarf lilacs in my front yard, and a daphne right by my front door that i planted a good 15 years ago… all are long done blooming for the year here. Daphne blooms february/march here, lilacs are mid april-mid may… sadly, they dont last near long enough. had hyacinth and tulips earlier, but i lost most of my sense of smell to covid a few years ago, and one of the things i cant smell anymore is hyacinth. Sometimes i can smell the daphne, and i can definitely smell the lilac. Just not sure if i smell it as strongly as before.
@jnicholson0619@Pony
Oh, that’s really sad - I’ve heard of that happening to people post-Covid! Does it affect your sense of taste too?
How about honeysuckle - can you grow those? That’s the other plant that smells heavenly in the middle of summer.
@jnicholson0619@Kyeh@Pony
Currently the gardenias are the most fragrant thing in the yard. I also have some lavender that’s starting to bloom. Everything else is pretty much just show. Have a ginormous Chaste lilac bush, but it really didn’t smell much. It is very pretty though.
@chienfou@jnicholson0619@Pony Gardenias! They won’t survive outside here, but I should get one for inside my house. My mother had a big beautiful one in her bathroom years ago. It liked the humidity.
Light a match if it’s the bathroom. I really works! It’s what burns in the match head that blocks something in your nose. Or you can contract Anosmia and never smell again.
But yeah. When a room gets stinky, I like to open a window, but there’s only about 6-12 weeks a year when that’s practical. Like, April and October. From May to September it’s between 85-105° F during the day, and from November to March it’s from 40° down to -30°.
So it’s not always practical unless I want to deal with huge humidity shifts from the temperature.
So I go with a combination of air purifiers and chandan incense.
Get blamed.
@yakkoTDI and you can’t even blame me!
I live alone and never have guests.
@brennyn So you just let it stink?
@brennyn This sounds a bit like depression.
@brainmist @brennyn I also live alone and never have guests. Lots of people work from home and are not necessarily inclined to go out and meet people. Have you met society? So IDK what’s up with the whole depression BS? Not everyone is an extrovert and that’s fucking fine
@brainmist @unksol I didn’t read that as being a strong dig against me.

Wow 6 weeks, where you going?
@brennyn @Star2236, Ireland and UK. I’m also going to see P!nk while I’m there. I saw her last year in Poland.
@brennyn @kittykat9180
That’s cool, I always thought that would be a cool concert to see.

@brennyn @Kyeh @Star2236
She does but not nearly as much as she used. It’s probably too much wear on her body over the years.
@brennyn @kittykat9180 @Star2236 Yeah, I guess at 44 it would take more of a toll on her.
Wash my socks and underwear.
@hchavers I would hope you do that regularly.
Open windows.
@Kyeh Exactly. Open windows and turn on the house fan.
@Kyeh @Pony Literally this (I wish, we don’t have a whole house fan but I want one badly)
@Pony Right now I wish I could draw the outside air in way more than usual because it smells heavenly! Lilacs, irises, the neighbors’ roses and peonies, and various trees budding out. If only I could find something that really captures that scent.
@PooltoyWolf They are so worth it. We had ours installed just shortly after we bought this house, and it is absolutely wonderful.
@Kyeh Ooooh lilacs are my favorite! I just planted a few small ones out in front of our house. I look forward to when they grow up and perfume the air.

@Pony I have been unsuccessful in convincing my father to buy and install one. Any tips? Heh

Light a match
Clean the litter box
@DLPanther
Trust one of our many air purifiers to do its job.
Light a match if it’s the bathroom. I really works! It’s what burns in the match head that blocks something in your nose. Or you can contract Anosmia and never smell again.
Open windows in warm weather. Turn on the air purifiers in cool.
leave the room
Remove the cause of the stink, and ventilate.
Clean the room and open a window (weather dependent).
Soy wax?
((Puts on sombrero, poncho, and mustache))
Hola wax! Soy dad!
find out what the smell is caused by and clean up if needed, and/or open a window…

Clean it.
Most likely take out the trash.
Blame it on the dog.
Peppermint and sugar combo or 4x available?
