@sammydog01 Yup. I had 'Flix until they took away my ability to override that “autostart” thing that makes something start playing as soon as I open Netflix. That was such a teeth-gritting irritation that I would avoid 'Flix and look for stuff elsewhere. Since I found virtually everything (other than 'Flix originals) on Hulu, I just canceled Netflix. Saves me the monthly fee and the irritation, and I can’t say I’ve really missed any of what I’ve missed!
@tightwad To each his/her own. I pay a bit more get the commercial-free Hulu. I would pay a bit more to get a non-auto-play Netflix, but that isn’t an option.
@rockblossom@tightwad Hulu Live is the only way I can get streaming networks without cable, and I’m so done with cable. Plus commercials are good for snack breaks.
@sammydog01@tightwad I don’t have cable. I do have a Roku that works happily with my wifi router, and more streaming services than I could ever need or want. I can pick up 15 local channels via antenna, but I rarely watch live TV. It’s easier to just stream stuff later minus the commercials.
@sammydog01 I’m one of those “between” types. If ESPN offered a stand-alone streaming service the way HBO does, I would probably subscribe at least for football and basketball seasons. But since It only comes as part of a “package” with a lot of stuff I don’t want, I’ll pass. I’m not enough of a fan to pay for a whole streaming package just to get ESPN.
@ZestyCookie1277 I watched 1 ep at a time at release, then revisited it as a binge, I like it much more binging, which is ironic as it lost its newness.
I can’t pick. I watch almost anything I can get my hands on in Netflix. It is a original series, action, sci-fi, B-movie geekers paradise! I can’t believe I didn’t have it sooner. Currently, I am watching the Lemony Snicket’s series. It is just bizarre and funny enough to find it enjoyable.
But I do have a question. I just have the basic Netflix and the picture is really, really good. I am finding it hard to believe the more expensive plan is that much better.
Thoughts?
@reclaimercube hope you like it! Honestly, I was blown away by his magic. He was funny. The whole series was really enjoyable and I hope they make more episodes. Let me know if the magic backpack episode trips you out. I don’t want to know how the tricks were done, they just made me happy.
Altered Carbon was so good. We binged it in only a couple of days. I should watch it again.
@RiotDemon I am definitely on board with you with Altered Carbon. I’m not sure if you enjoy Cris Angel’s antics but Mindfreak was SO COOL to me. It was his magic tv show.
@mike808@moonhat I really enjoyed Travelers. The way they ended season 3 was great. So good that I would only be a little disappointed if they chose to end the series there.
My former flatmate made a replica of Lucille from TWD. It was a pitiful attempt, but he had fun making it and was pleased with the result, so good for him.
@SenorYEETZ I love it. Fair warning - it has its ups & downs. There are a few seasons in the middle where it suffers a bit, but it recovers well and despite the low points, the series as a whole is frigging brilliant (well, brilliantly stupid, at least).
Yeah, I’ve watched everything I could get my eyes on, lol.
The Out of the Park shows are live shows with scripted bits shot in & around the areas where their live tour took them.
Some of it is pretty bad and some of it is hilarious.
I think I tried to watch everything in chronological order (movies, one-off specials, Out of the Park, etc.) but you could watch all of the series and then go back and watch the additional stuff when you get the jones for more 'Boys. It’s not like there’s any concern for continuity or spoilers. I mean, there’s a bit of continuity that might cause you to miss a joke or two if you watch newer stuff before older stuff, but nothing consequential.
@DennisG2014 like at first when i started watching them i was so confused on why the one guy with glasses i think it is bubbles was drinking out of a cat bowl
it was the one movie where they rob the movie cinema and take all of the coins
Looking at just Netflix original material, Sense 8, hands down. Grace and Frankie in second place. The Good Place third. The Crown and Santa Clarita Diet are runners up. If you are including all of Netflix’s content, my list would be a mile long.
I personally like Stranger Things and The Ranch.
I don’t get Netflix.
/giphy so sad
@sammydog01 Do you have it?
@SenorYEETZ Netflix? I just said I don’t have it. Long live Hulu!
@sammydog01 Yup. I had 'Flix until they took away my ability to override that “autostart” thing that makes something start playing as soon as I open Netflix. @rockblossom @sammydog01 How can you miss things you never had?
@rockblossom @sammydog01 @therealjrn
Said every teenager ever about sex.
@rockblossom @sammydog01 Funny, I got rid of Hulu because their commercials in the middle of the episode annoyed the piss out of me.

@rockblossom I’m gonna guess you’re not a sports fan.

Im on season 8 ep.4 it is great
@ZestyCookie1277 I watched 1 ep at a time at release, then revisited it as a binge, I like it much more binging, which is ironic as it lost its newness.
@ZestyCookie1277 And who are you?
Right now we have been enjoying “Wanted”, some series set in Australia. Kinda good.
@moonhat I liked that!
Senor, what type of series/movie are you interested in?
@moonhat I enjoy the ranch
@moonhat @SenorYEETZ That looks good. I should get Netflix.
@moonhat @sammydog01 @SenorYEETZ it’s very good. My mom loves Sam what’s his mustache.
@moonhat @RiotDemon @SenorYEETZ Me too.
/image Sam Elliot
@sammydog01 then you’d probably really love the show. Lots of Sam in it.
@RiotDemon @sammydog01 @SenorYEETZ me three.
/image Sam Elliott wow
@moonhat @RiotDemon @sammydog01 it’s so funny

Thoughts?
@mfladd, only if you have a 4k tv.
There’s so many options! I don’t know what my favorites are. Here are some recent things I can think of.
Currently watching The Lost Kingdom.
Recently binged the rest of Nailed It!
Can’t wait for Altered Carbon to come back on.
Magic For Humans was great.
@RiotDemon FUCK YEAH ALTERED CARBON
@RiotDemon Magic For Humans looks great! Thank you
@reclaimercube hope you like it! Honestly, I was blown away by his magic. He was funny. The whole series was really enjoyable and I hope they make more episodes. Let me know if the magic backpack episode trips you out. I don’t want to know how the tricks were done, they just made me happy.

Enjoying many of the foreign series.
Silver Spoon. Hinterland. Borderliner. Mar de Plastico. The Fall. Etc.
Oh, and The Travelers.
@mike808 oh ya! Travelers! Definitely.
@mike808 @moonhat I really enjoyed Travelers. The way they ended season 3 was great. So good that I would only be a little disappointed if they chose to end the series there.
Atypical. And Black Mirror. And Sherlock. And Z-Nation. And The Good Place. And The 100.
@ruouttaurmind I just finished The Good Place podcast which takes a deep dive into the show. Highly recommended.
@ruouttaurmind Z-Nation is where its at heck yeah
I made a bat like the girl had
@ZestyCookie1277

I have the Netflix, but my tastes are diverse; it would be difficult indeed to narrow it down.
You - a cross between Dexter and Sex in the City.
@porvad I was surprised by how good You was. It legitimately creeped me out. The ending was somehow both satisfying and unnerving.
The wife (What’s her face) and I watched Gerald’s Game. That movie was intense.
@jst1ofknd I hated that book. It made me anxious and angry.
The movie followed it pretty well.
@jst1ofknd @RiotDemon I agree! I have loved many Stephen king books, but that book was NOT one of them.
Trailer Park Boys FTW.
@DennisG2014 I just started watching that its hilarious
@SenorYEETZ I love it. Fair warning - it has its ups & downs. There are a few seasons in the middle where it suffers a bit, but it recovers well and despite the low points, the series as a whole is frigging brilliant (well, brilliantly stupid, at least).
@DennisG2014 I noticed that netflix made another series trailer park boys out of the park or something like that have you seen it?
Yeah, I’ve watched everything I could get my eyes on, lol.
The Out of the Park shows are live shows with scripted bits shot in & around the areas where their live tour took them.
