@thismyusername I have always thought it weird that Reeses Pieces have no chocolate. (In this regard, Peanut Butter m&ms are actually superior) If the intent was to capitalize on the the established Reeses PB cups, it would seem the chocolate/peanut butter combination would be a given. Add on top of that they are from candy maker Hershey’s (known for chocolate) and the omission seems especially odd.
@thismyusername Peanut butter M&M’s suck. Reeces Pieces FTW. That being said, peanut M&M’s are my favorite. Mars should give up on the peanut butter ones.
@dptalia Yeah, I actually read the Emperors of Chocolate (amazingly good read about Mars vs. Hershey), the three children who now run Mars were raised in England, and they don’t “get” peanut butter. It’s been a big folly of theirs for many years. That being said, they still are one of the most profitable companies in the world. We’ll never know how profitable because they are still (very) private. Also, Hershey’s chocolate was in M&M’s until the 60s, and M&Ms was originally a joint venture between Mars and the son of the VP of Hershey’s.
On hot summer days I like to leave a bag of M&M’s sitting on my dashboard in direct sunlight, so after a few hours they are all melted inside and you can just pop them in your mouth. It’s quite awesome if you’ve never done it.
Using a microwave to do a small batch works too, but sometimes they can get painfully hot if they aren’t evenly heated.
I’m a chocolate snob. I don’t care for “candy bar” chocolate at all, Lindt is about the lowest quality chocolate I’ll eat. My favorite recent discovery Deana’s Belgian Thins from Costco
@moondrake those look awesome! do you know what percentage dark chocolate? i tried looking on their site, but it doesn’t say. and, i couldn’t see anything on the packaging. for reference, i usually eat 80-90% dark.
@carl669 The bag doesn’t have a percentage, but I believe it’s quite high as I also enjoy very high percentage of dark chocolate, and this has a similar flavor and also makes me thirsty. No parafin and no oil other than the cocoa butter, none of that waxy, greasy feeling of lower quality chocolate.
@DVDBZN Have you tried Raffaellos? Made by the same company as Ferrero Rocher, not white chocolate but similar creamy goodness. “Confetteria Raffaello is a creamy coconut almond specialty confection manufactured by Italian company Ferrero SpA. It consists of an almond surrounded by a soft cream, wrapped in a coconut wafer shell and coated in coconut flakes.”
@moondrake if you like those, you’ll probably like the Princessa bar I found at a polish store. It’s all the delicious flavor of the rafaellos but in a big wafer bar. I’m sad that they stopped carrying it.

@Klaatu1721 I made something you’d like a while back. I bought some locally grown orange habanero pecans at a farmers’ market thinking orange plus habanero, sweet citrus heat. Turns out it was orange colored habanero, dragon fire. Beautiful but too hot to eat. So I baked one pecan half each on top of brownies. They infused the chocolate with warmth, and an extra kick when you got to the pecan.

@Fuzzalini The original founder of Mars hated peanut butter, which is why it took so long for there to be a peanut butter M&M.

Might be caramel, once they’re out. For now my favorite is plain and occasionally mint.

@Zeusandhera Works in jean pockets too. I’ve heard they used to give them to soldiers for that reason.
@Pantheist Hell, they were INVENTED for to put in soldiers’ rations…!
I have no doubt it’ll be these.
@cinoclav Those look amazing. Have you seen them in a store?
@dptalia They’re not being released until May.
Dark Chocolate w/ Peanut. Milk chocolate just doesn’t cut it anymore

@moondrake don’t be a “candy bar” chocolate snob. You enjoy it and it’s okay that you do!

@moondrake thanks! i’ll have to look for them next time i’m at costco.
Skittles.
White chocolate.
@DVDBZN Lindt white chocolate truffles. Divine.
@moondrake
Those are my absolute favorite, especially since both layers have different textures and flavors.
@moondrake My favorite of the truffles too. It’s a challenge to see how long I can enjoy each one.

@moondrake
I have indead! My mom really likes the Raffaellos and the Lindt chocolates, so I get to have them on occasion.
Free.
I went with plain because that’s what I usually get, but sometimes I really love the Minis.
Loved the Chili Nut M&Ms, but unfortunately they were voted down in favor of the Coffee Nut variety. Stupid Coffee Nut lovers.
@Klaatu1721 damn coffee nuts.

@carl669 LOL, I miss Dwight.
@moondrake Sounds good. Now add some orange zest to the brownie mix, and you’ve got the whole package!
@moondrake
I would have ground them up and then put them in the brownies.
But that sounds amazing. Send me some pls.
The kind that don’t melt in my hand.
Coffee Nut is pretty awesome.
You assholes have destroyed my willpower.
Fuck you, going shopping, fuckers.
@f00l Hope you got some extra to share with your fellow Texans
@compunaut
Intend to eat them before I leave the parking lot.
You all did this to me with all your talk, so no bitching.
@f00l Just buy the largest size bag. Or better yet, a whole 'nother one!
@compunaut
Thank you for reminding me I had some M&Ms left over from Christmas still. They’re regular, so that’s my vote.
Are you telling me that pretzel M&Ms exist?
@InnocuousFarmer They DO exist!
These… best.
I like the mini ones I like to put them on top of ice cream.
Looks like swagbucks copied your poll.
The results are similar too.
