What's Your Best Place To Buy Men's Shoes
1So I need to get some new shoes, both sneakers and dress shoes.
What's your favorite place to get good shoes at a low price? Obviously, I like deals which is why I'm here. However, I've always just defaulted to Amazon. We have a couple good shoe stores locally but the prices are really, really high there.
So anyone have any good sources for decent quality shoes at exceptional prices?

Zappos. No questions asked free returns/exchanges are a must for shoes, and they're great.
I enjoy 6pm.com. Shoes are cheap, and have a very easy return policy. In an actual store, I only buy at Nordstrom.
@conandlibrarian 6pm.com is the clearance section of zappos.com.
Just about impossible for me to buy shoes online. Tend to hit places like DSW or the outlets.
@cinoclav I've only been to one DSW, but I thought their cheap shoes were cheap for being low quality or ugly. Maybe I need to give it another shot?
@luvche21 They carry name brand shoes. I've seen just about everything there including $500 Bruno Maglis.
We used to have an Adidas outlet here and it was my default place for sneakers, really good deals could be found there and I like the way their shoes fit me. But it closed and I'm left without a go-to spot.
I've also found some good deals at Kohl's locally and bought a few pairs there. I don't really like to buy shoes online without trying them unless they're a known quantity, although hassle free returns is a good step towards making that a reasonable process.
Being a size 13, if I shop at local stores I'm forced to shop by size first then settle on available styles. Nothing worse than finding a great deal on a sweet shoe, but they don't have any in your size. Womp, womp! I've bought a couple pairs of dress shoes on woot recently. Sorta forgot about zappos...probably should check them out.
@medz dude. I wear a 15. You don't even know how real the strugglez are.
I also like shoebuy.com. They have free shipping/exchanges. They also have a lot of sales and send coupons all the time. I have gotten some seriously sweet deals on Merrell shoes there. Last pair of Jungle Mocs was a better price than I found anywhere else on the web.
I tend to go to Nordstrom Rack because it's the only place that I've found around here with a decent (and by that I mean 10-20 pairs of shoes total) selection that will actually fit me.
Pro Tip: don't grow big ass feet.
the DS Dub (DSW)
Sketchers store for sneakers/casual shoes, mens wearhouse and macys for dress shoes. Wherevs for flip-flops.
I try to shop around (physically, because Zappos prices aren't great compared to clearance sections), but I always end up at Payless.
Knowing your size is so important. I believed that I was a 9.5 forever then read that NewBalance had a great rep for good sizing so went in and was shocked to learn that I was a 10.5 - 11 (forget if a D or E). Made such a difference in my life.
There are a few rules about being sized such as not going in too early in the day etc. but the real issue is that not all makers follow the same sizing rules. Puma is crazy small for most men.
I have always liked NB for style then discovered the Minimus and that is pretty much all I wear in a sneaker. Signing up with NB which is crazy expensive and the online outlet gets lots of good discounts (like $20 sneakers). NB has a lot of great info on comfort - different ways to tie shoes depending on your foot condition...
The max or marshals for better shoes but their men's selection is often very small.
Everyday shoes I get at target on clearance. Look just like name brand shoes except on clearance they cost $12. I buy them wear them out and throw them away in a couple of months not caring that I got stains or cuts in them. I would never wear 50$ and up shoes to my job wear I stand a good portion of the day on material that is designed for grip and destroys soles in no time
