@aliasdenied I deployed so many times. Missed out on a lot of Valentines Day’s, Christmas’s, Birthdays. Now I’m retired so will leave all that to you and your love. Thank you for your service.
Hubby and I were going to eat one of our favorite meals (Bagna càuda) and then watch a movie, but now we’ll just text each other and plan for it another time. I’m in the hospital in ICU (it’s not COVID) and they frown on cooking garlicky dishes in our rooms. Well, any dishes really, but especially garlicky ones.
@tinamarie1974 I think I’ll be alright. My lungs are really screwed up and I wind up in the hospital every so often. My left lung is partially collapsed right now, so I’m just hoping they don’t intubate me to make it open up again.
Picking up donuts from a local donut & coffee shop. Probably picking up food somewhere since. Too cautious to bring our kids to a restaurant right now, and don’t have a babysitter.
Usually on Valentine’s Day, my wife makes a good dinner. But today is my daughter’s 21st birthday, so we’re taking her and her fiancee out for dinner at a wine specialty place.
i don’t know yet. nothing super exciting which is what we both prefer even if it wasn’t during a pandemic.
he stayed up really late last night so it depends when he gets up. if it’s late, i think i’ll make breakfast for dinner, eggnog challah french toast with strawberries, sausages, eggs. if it’s not, i think we’ll go to one of our favorite places, the local bubble tea shop and pick up some drinks and snacks to take home. (i usually get food there too and then he stops for a burger for him.)
we already exchanged gifts on friday because it was his birthday and he wanted to open everything at once, and i opened my gift too. he requested chocolate chip cookies for his birthday this year and i baked half that night and saved the other half of the dough for tonight so we’re set for sweets. i usually cook but i spent a lot of yesterday cooking (korean fried chicken bites and pork & scallion wontons in chili oil - everything homemade except the wonton wrappers) so /shrug
anyway, until then it’ll be the usual tea and crossword for me no complaints any which way.
and the french toast is an ina garten recipe, but subbing the eggnog for the milk. good with lemon or lime zest if you don’t have an orange too, or cinnamon…good with brioche if you can’t get challah.
I went in to work, but I was glad, because it’s 20 degrees colder here at my house! It’s usually too hot there for my liking, but today and yesterday it was great.
Watching and waiting for snowocalypse
My husband is deployed and I’m about to get snowed in, so my plan is just to get drunk with my cats and play video games

@Pony Hang in there. I hear vampire doctors are among the best.
@Pony Good luck with all of that.
Leftovers from Saturday while hanging out with the pup
@tinamarie1974, me too!
@kittykat9180 hope you are enjoying yourself as well! I had beef and broccoli stir fry. How about you?
Get up
Get outta bed
Drag a comb across my head
Go to work…
Yeah, it’s just another work day.
Celebrated with my fella last night. Had to rearrange the furniture, I broke my toe and possible my nose, but it was fun
@Hrairoo Ouch!
@Hrairoo, you all get pretty freaky to have that kind of carnage.

Prep for St Skeletor Day.

I got gifts from all my Animal Crossing villagers. That was nice of them.
it’s -6 F with a -28 F wind chill right now so it is going to be a nice meal at home because it is really shitty cold outside today.
You missed the boat on this one-already started a similar thread. Stop playing with your CAPTCHA or you will go blind.
Beep beep boop boop. (I assume if you failed CAPTCHA you now understand Robot.)
Sautéd sausages with roasted Brussel sprouts and roasted broccoli served with some crunchy French bread and Brie.
@show_the_maw also, heart shaped pancakes for breakfast.

@jerk_nugget Your posts often make me hungry - that all sounds so good!
@Kyeh i love to cook - that particular meal was a labor of love but totally worth it. spicy snack like foods + hockey game + saturday night = awesome.
