BOTH AT ONCE when it’s cold enough and the dog wants a walk.
The beanie keeps my ears warm and the baseball cap lets me shade my eyes from the oncoming headlights, since I better control the onrushing fuzzball with both hands.
“BOTH AT ONCE (you shameless midwesterner)”
As a Midwesterner to Europe transplant, I rocked this style two weeks ago in the French Alps. Without shame.
Had no clue it was a style particular to my upbringing
Years ago when I would go skiing late in the season I would often wear a bowler. Now I am not outside long enough to need a hat most of the time (central AL). If I do, it’s when we are travelling and then it’s generally a Greek fishing hat.
There’s only one style of winter hat I really like. I discovered it at Kohl’s a while back; I bought two but when I went back of course they no longer had that style. So since then I’ve been buying them off Ebay or Poshmark when I see them.
I just hate not being able to replace a specific favorite thing!
I dunno, wear one?
@awk nah
Gives me a headache
A hood.
@shahnm A snood

No beanie. Ushanka. Called “trapper’s hat” in Canada.
A ski mask. Gets you special customer service too.
@hchavers It’s great for cash back rewards!
@hchavers @zinimusprime

@rtjhnstn “Daniel Boone was a man…yes, a real man!”
/showme hat strategy
I guess she looks like she’s plotting something…?
@mediocrebot Almost human this time.
@ircon96 Plotting revenge on whoever designed the brim of that hat?
@blaineg I was thinking the same thing, everything but the eyes. But, of course, her hands aren’t visible, so that helps!
@werehatrack
Yep, i think you’re onto something!
Watch cap. Beanies look goofy on me.
@ahacksaw Is it really the beanie that looks goofy?
@yakkoTDI Harumph!
I don’t wear one, it mess’s up my hair.

@kittykat9180 I make sure to keep my hair long in the winter to keep my neck warm.

When my beard went grey, I bought one to complete the look.

@Kyeh
What’s that style called?
@f00l Bucket hat or cloche. This one is soft and floppy, which I like.
