An energy drink that not sickly-sweet, has a lower cost than just about all of the others, and uses flavoring that’s not really weird and offputting, or nasty-smelling/nasty-tasting.
Cans the same size as these that can fuel your automobile, 100 miles, per.
Now that would be efficient energy!
[I mean, since they had working replicators in the 60’s.]
@xobzoo It was test marketed where I live. It was a funny novelty. 7up always said “never had it. Never will.” But when things like Jolt got popular they came out with their own caffeinated beverage. Green in a clear bottle of course.
@tweezak Particularly when combined with a proper sleep schedule and regular physical activity.
I’ve got the water part figured out. Still working on the sleep and exercise routines. It’s amazing how hard those are to do properly, even when your employer isn’t actively fighting against you about it.
@tweezak It’s amazing how rare drinking primarily water is, innit? People give me funny looks when I tell them I don’t drink coffee, tea, alcohol, or much soda. “Then what do you drink?!?” Water. Lots of people don’t have access to clean water and would kill for it, you know…

@xobzoo@Weboh We have an excellent well that provides clear, good tasting water with no chlorine. But when I drink enough water to properly hydrate, it interferes with my sleep schedule.
Can’t win…
@macromeh@xobzoo Unfortunately, “clear” and “good-tasting” don’t mean “clean, pure, and pathogen- and chemical-free.” If you’re going to drink a lot of it, I’d get it tested on a regular basis—particularly if you see problems like not being able to sleep after drinking it.
@Weboh@xobzoo My family and I have been drinking the well water for 24 years now with no issues, so I think we’re probably OK.
And my night-time sleep disruption (read: getting up multiple times IYGMD) can be brought on by drinking significant quantities of any liquid, not just water.
I still haven’t tried any energy drinks since I usually need something to help me sleep. Thankfully a coffee before bedtime still works as I would hate to need something stronger.
@yakkoTDI I wouldn’t class it as an “energy drink” only because I consider that categorization pejorative, but mate is a stimulant, caffeinated, etc. There are apparently 150 mg caffeine in a 15.5 oz can of the Guayaki product, which isn’t nothing.
I once tried a Guarana soda in Brazil that was delicious; it tasted like caramel, kind of. At that time they evidently weren’t allowed to sell it in the U.S.
Vault Soda from the mid 2000’s was PEAK ENERGY drink. Everything else should have gone home except for Lost… Energy

Here’s one:

@werehatrack Grab it every time it goes on sale.
@werehatrack
Mountain Dew is this
It has orange juice inside it
That makes it healthy
Sugar free energy drinks, specifically Bang energy drinks.
@chuckf1 So, energyless drinks? Sugar is raw energy.
Sugar is bad for diabetics or prediabetics like myself.
@chuckf1 It’s actually not all that good for most of the rest, either.
Coffee or tea still best and only
@2many2no I have to add so much sugar and milk to either to make them palatable for me, it’s actually healthier to just have a can of soda for my fix.
I can enjoy a light roast coffee or a good Thai tea, but they’re expensive and hard to come by in the States. Soda it is!

@tweezak I never knew that one.
It looks like it could really mess you up[side down].

@macromeh @Weboh @xobzoo Stay away from that dihydrogen monoxide though, the stuff will kill you.

@Weboh Too many people are, in fact, dying for clean water.
@tweezak Ugh. Don’t I know it. I was actually able to share a simple water purification method with some of those people awhile ago: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biosand_filter It’s a pretty neat system.

Triple shot! Yeah baby!
But only good coffee. There is a lot of really bad coffee out there.
@rustyh3
Diet Red Bull, preferably with vodka.
Coffee and yerba mate. Cold or hot.
Not that I don’t like new things. This is good stuff. You should sell it.
@joelmw Also this. Some day, I must have this. Because it seems like both science and art and altogether extra.
@joelmw That’s an energy drink? I thought it was just a weird soda. Now my answer above is wrongish.
