I refuse to accept any blame for things happening on Woot.
I would buy them if they had more sugar.
@sammydog01 I mean no one is stopping you from warming them up and throwing butter/cinnamon/sugar on them if you want
@unksol I would buy them if they had less fake sugar in them.
@sammydog01 while I have no opinion on this one way or the other and would not buy them regardless it says monk fruit. So at least it’s not aspartame. Seems legit.

At least the fruit.
@sammydog01 @unksol monkfruit always gives me pause. I bought some fruit cups sweetened with monk fruit. They tasted absolutely disgusting.
@RiotDemon @sammydog01 never tried it and that was only referencing sweetness although that article does mention balancing it… I would lean toward not buying unless you know you like that sweetener.
I’d just make waffles
@RiotDemon @sammydog01 @unksol
What is “monk fruit”?
Another newfangled sugar substitute?
@f00l @RiotDemon @sammydog01 @unksol
It’s a natural source for erythritol. Like all natural sources, there are variations, unlike artificial flavors which are limited mixtures of specific compounds. The natural variations gives flavors complexity, and thus doesn’t seem “unnatural” and one-noted, like lab-sourced “banana” or “vanilla” or “wintergreen” flavors produced with controlled chemical reactions using pure reagents.
@f00l @RiotDemon @sammydog01 just a fruit that tastes sweet and happens to not be packed full of calories. Will probably never take off in the US for the same reason other plants haven’t cause the sugar lobby goes nuts if there’s any competition/restriction/labeling.
@f00l @RiotDemon @sammydog01 @unksol To add to the replies, it’s a fruit-based zero calorie sweetener which is supposed to taste less terrible than stevia.
@f00l @mossygreen @RiotDemon @sammydog01 @unksol
To add to what @mossygreen said, it is a fruit-based sweetener that is supposed to be less terrible for your body than high concentrations of HFCS.
I saw Wizardry in the topic and hoped it was about the Sir-Tech game of yore. Sigh…
@duodec
I thought about the same thing
Back then it was my most awesome favorite
POPSOCKETS! COURT DOCKETS! FOLK ROCK HITS! AWESOME!
@duodec My apologies, Wizardry was cool.
Ultima as well.
@blaineg No apologies needed. Just Stroopwafels < Wizardry
Dutch ones are better
never had them from Holland made with a chocolate cookie but have had them chocolate covered.
