@djslack as an aspiring chef I'm going to have to criticize this recipe. I feel it's too simple and could be greatly improved. First, I would use chicken stock because it has a better flavor than vegetable, imo. Then I would make it a full mirepoix by sauteeing carrots in addition to the onions and celery, and I would add some garlic. If we're using broccoli then I would probably add cheese to make it a creamy/cheesey broccoli soup. Also, it doesn't even call for any seasoning! I would add pepper and maybe some chili powder or red pepper flakes for a little kick.
@JonT agreed on the chicken stock and the addition of salt/pepper. however, i think a bit of thyme would go better than pepper flakes. the recipe as is strikes me as relying on subtle flavors. i think it'd be too easy to overpower the existing flavors with chili or pepper flakes.
@carl669@JonT I would definitely eat at your restaurant...there's still pot right? I'm jealous as I can't cook at all and I have no patience to learn to do things correctly (also I don't have any cannabis). I like to grill, that's where I cook everything except eggs.
@JonT I like where you're going. Also just use regular butter and I'll be in. Although it won't be cream of Cannabis at that point, so I guess what I'm saying is that I'd like to try your broccoli cheese soup that we could eat in your state or mine.
@JonT hydroponic pot farm to table? that works for me. i'll go find some startup capital. you start spamming the forums with advertising. we'll call the place Midnight Meh-nchies.
@JerseyFrank i don't mean to be blunt here, but my buds and I are trying to blaze a path through the weeds. this is a joint venture between @JonT and I (and anyone else if they want - you'd be a dope not to). we're still trying to hash out the details though. so, let's keep the puns to a minimum, lest this become a chronic thing.
Yes, I think they are referring to the fact that both Washington State and Colorado have legalised recreational use of marijuana. So their soup may have some extra ingredients. I believe they were being cheeky.
I'm guessing Cream of Cannabis Soup.

@carl669 Good call, I actually had the same thought. Maybe just a sprinkle of rosemary and sage or thyme.
@JonT we should totally open a restaurant.

@JonT @carl669 I was actually thinking some fresh dill would go really well with that. Keep it light and grassy
@carl669 sounds good, what's our concept? Hydroponic farm to table?

@carl669 @JonT Look, if you're going to make Cannabis soup in a pot, you have to add lemongrass. More puns = better soup.
