What is my boy??
18Howdy folks. If you are following the blame thread you may know that I recently adopted an interesting looking rescue pup. I decided to do a DNA test to figure out what kind of doggo I got.
So in honor of @sammydog01 interest, I am posting as a game.
Who can guess what breed(s) of doggo I adopted?

Great Pyrenees?
Shar Pei?
he is a cutie, whatever his heritage…
@chienfou thanks
Has kind of a Silky Terrier head shape with Jack Russell coloring. Beautiful and sweet either way!
Adorable. The breed is adorable.
@SpoopySkeleton thanks
I should add that he is getting big. 12 weeks 10 lbs. 19 wks 22 lbs
@tinamarie1974
so I may be right?
I think he may be the offspring of a Jack Russell Terrier, a Brittany, an Engish Setter, and a dustmop.
@rockblossom definitely dustmop!!! Although he reverse cleans. That hair collects grass, etc from outside and brings it in!!
@rockblossom @tinamarie1974
so:
plus
plus
with a dash of
sounds about right!
@rockblossom @tinamarie1974
turned out a lot bet looking than I would have guessed…
@chienfou THAT is pretty accurate actually!
2/3

definitely a dog
@riskybryzness Definitely mostly a dog.
@riskybryzness sole my answer. definitely a dog.
oh my gosh. whatever he is, is adorable with a capital A. So cute!!! eeek
@moonhat thanks
Jack russell x Brussels griffon x adorable mutt
@RiotDemon thanks
Genuine purebred mutt.
Border collie and cairn terrier.
@sammydog01 dang. Cairn terrier. Couldn’t remember the name.
@RiotDemon I did math on puppy size and came up with 60 pounds. Then I looked up large long haired dogs and picked two. I can’t wait to hear!
@sammydog01 ooh, that big? How old is he? I must of missed that.
Edit: went back and saw 22 pounds at 19 weeks.
My 75+ pound girl was 30ish pounds at that point.
@RiotDemon @sammydog01 he is 20 wks. I did the math and came up with around 65 - 70.
He was 10lbs at 12 wks and 22 lbs at 19 weeks
Hoping I am wrong!!
@RiotDemon @tinamarie1974 You’re going to be up to your ankles in fur. Do you have a roomba?
@RiotDemon @sammydog01 yyeeaahhh I think so. I actually do, but not Roomba brand. Won it in an Irk
Oh and we are being evaluated for obedience school tomorrow. Big day for the pup!
@RiotDemon @sammydog01 @tinamarie1974 the 99 dollar off brand “roomba” I bought on a mehrathon does much better than the old roombas did from reports although this is my first one…
It mostly starts off in straight paths despite not having lidar and slightly bumps around planning, then keeps to that through the first pass then starts some diagonals till the battery goes low. It does pick up a lot of cat hair. But I do have the bedroom and entryway blocked. That’s just cause flooring to finish and packages/stuff. It had plenty of battery to do then if I finished that.
I usually empty a full bin of hair when I run it. If you already have it he sounds like he might shed alot at that size. If you run it every two to three days while you’re at work it might clean up a lot. Really depends.
He’s a Miniature American Adorbs. ‘Nuff said, ruouttaurmind has spoken.
@ruouttaurmind I don’t think there is gonna b anything miniature about him. Full size all the way. Thanks
Irish Canardly. Can 'ardly tell what he is!
@ThunderChicken I’m borrowing this. Never heard it before, and I’m very old.
Something mixed with Tibetan terrier
@mwgm that was exactly what I thought too!
@tinamarie1974 they have a really good nature if he is. My sister had one for 15 years and got another one after he passed. And they don’t shed much, either.
@mwgm @tinamarie1974 I hope that’s not the dog in The Dresden Files.
I know next to nothing about dog breeds but whatever he is he’s SUPER cute! I hope he doesn’t change too much even if he gets bigger. That face…
@Kyeh thank you
Scruffy.
I think you should do this for him.
@Kyeh maybe it’s just me but that looks like a way to scare off trick or treaters/give them outer limits style nightmares
@unksol Haha, it is pretty eerie-looking.
Nobody has posted the obvious answer: he’s a very good boy.
How long do we have to wait for the DNA test?
@RiotDemon Ill post tonight. Really busy this morning and now I have a migraine coming on. Going to lay down for a bit
@tinamarie1974

Drumroll please
/giphy drumroll
@tinamarie1974 I’m waiting!
Supermutt is Lab/Golden Retriever and Llewellyn Setter
@tinamarie1974 I was 13% right! That’s quite a mix you have. I wouldn’t have guessed long hair.
@sammydog01 13% ain’t bad! Good job super sluth!
I think he looks like the Llewellyn Setter
@tinamarie1974 Did you do what dog? That photo app?
@sammydog01 um. Huh? What you talkin about Willis?
@sammydog01 @tinamarie1974 I wouldn’t of guessed boxer or pit bull at all.
@RiotDemon @sammydog01 I was absolutely floored. I was thinking Tibetan Terrier or some type of herding/sheep dog.
@tinamarie1974 There was some app and there was a thread about- you upload a photo of your dog and it tells you what breed it is. I seem to have gotten the name wrong. Maybe I made the whole thing up?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@RiotDemon @tinamarie1974 I am kind of afraid of doing a dna test because if it comes out pit bull that’s a problem.
@sammydog01 @tinamarie1974 why? Not like you have to tell anyone it says pit bull.
@RiotDemon @sammydog01 agree, no one has to know you did it. Well, except us because we want to know the results
@RiotDemon @tinamarie1974 Keep posting photos please- I can’t wait to see what he looks like all grown up.
@RiotDemon @sammydog01 I can do that.
Btw, weighed him today 24.6# He is growing like a weed!!
@tinamarie1974 Akitas are cool. Wanted one for a long time, but they arent good with kids, so had to hold off.
@kykazaa yeah he seems to be ok, not really aggressive. When he does something wrong and I yell at him he just rolls over on his back with his feet in the air and tail between his legs. Hard to stay mad at that point!
I think he will be ok with kids once the puppy wears off. He is “barky and jumpy” as my niece describes it! We started obedience school today, so HOPEFULLY that will help!!
@tinamarie1974 HA! So I was right. Purebred mutt LOL. Quite a mix. Hopefully that means few health problems since so many dogs are bred for looks and end up with health issues because of that.
@Kidsandliz @tinamarie1974
Amen to that! Hard to beat a “Heinz 57” for disposition and overall health usually.
@tinamarie1974 huh? I see no Boxer and no Akita (family had both). The retriever makes sense with his legs. Pit Bull Terrier and Beagle seem way off too. Do post pictures as he grows.
