Upping the intensity of training our birddogs in anticipation of hunting seasons for upland birds starting in the early Fall! (Winter/Spring we participate in hunt tests and training events. Those were all canceled this year, covid-19, so we’re expecting some real thick rust on the dogs’ skills, but we love working with them regardless even if we don’t bring home the main ingredient for Ruffed Grouse Parmesan.
St. “my real life first name” day. I have a very unusual first name (never met anyone else with same name and never met anyone else who has either) and I found out several years ago that there is a St. With my name… And that there is a Saints day for that Saint. (During summer)
Nonetheless, I make a big deal about it every year and try to get everyone else I know to make a big deal about it too…
@Limewater@macromeh@OnionSoup humm. IDK, having attended catholic grade school as long as our essays somehow said I love God and God loves me AND we memorized the 10 commandments AND the books of the bible (old and neq) you were assured an A! Never had to worry about the saints
I’d be willing to bet not one person alive could name every single saint ever. They add new ones every year and there’s quite a few years of history in the church.
@moonhat@OnionSoup@tinamarie1974 OK, the saint’s day is in the summer and it’s an uncommon name… Boniface (6/5)? Romuald (6/19)? Bonaventure (7/15)? Eusebius (8/20)?
That last step of climbing out of debt due to the Christmas tradition of debt plunging.

Receiving cool stuff … because it’s too damn hot in South Florida.
Going to the beach by myself with a good book.

… They don’t.
@OnionSoup Not being Catholic, I never realized that there is a Saint for every day of the year.

@macromeh @OnionSoup I am catholic and I had no idea there were so many saints. Does that make me a bad catholic?
@macromeh @tinamarie1974 there are thousands of saints. Each day is multiple Saint Days.
I’m not a Catholic either… But non Catholics celebrate St. Pat and St. Val’s.
I’m determined to get people to celebrate St. “My Name” day.
@macromeh @OnionSoup @tinamarie1974 Yep. That’s it. That’s the thing that makes you a bad catholic.
@Limewater @macromeh @tinamarie1974 murder, steal, pillage… But you better know your saints.

@Limewater @macromeh @tinamarie1974 yeah… I’m sure I was way off the mark. No offense meant by it, it was a joke.
