What does it mean?
5Do any of you believe in numerology? Is it meaningful that I hit 666 replies in October? Or is it more meaningful that if you add the 111 comments you get 777?
In the forum, ybmuG is a nonstop, irrepressible chatterbox with 1 topic created, 111 comments, and 666 replies.

You should go with the 777 thing. Much Better.

Yeah, yer just fine Gumby!
@therealjrn thanks!
And we’re watching Ghost Hunters right now…
Go for 826. 8 is the luckiest number in Chinese numerology and 26 is the most frequently drawn powerball lottery number. So post away and then play the lottery on your triple-lucky day!
Oh, and buy your ticket from some place that hase never won any big jackpots, because they’re due.
@mike808 I was #8 in basketball in Jr Hi. My nerd brain thought it was the perfect number because it is even and the lowest cube.
@mike808 @ybmuG 168. Continuous prosperity.
(OTOH, 164 is not so good. Continuous death.)
Love number patterns. Accidental/natural/random, and human-perception-imposed-or-imagined.
I have been told that numerology of a sort is built into Hebrew. I don’t know any Hebrew so I’m clueless there.
In most cases I don’t believe they (perceived number patterns) are “secret messages from the universe” or anything.
Often they are just normally randomized, and it is our species’ perceptive shortcomings that imposes the “pattern”.
In some cases, they do reflect some underlying numerical significance.
And so, in these cases, scientists should go after those patterns and extract/investigate the science of them.
@f00l it’s kind of like how we see images in the clouds, faces in inanimate objects, etc. Our brains are wired to make sense of our surroundings.
@ybmuG Except for the Fibonacci Sequence. That shit is real.

@f00l
They use the same characters for their numbers as they do for their alphabet – like roman numerals. Greek and Hebrew both do that.
“Nero Caesar” in the Hebrew alphabet is נרון קסר which when used as numbers represent 50 200 6 50 100 60 200, which add to 666.
The real interesting part is if you translate “Nero Caesar” in Greek, it adds up to 616. There are old Greek biblical scriptures that say the number of the beast is 616.
@f00l Did you know about https://oeis.org/ ?
@InnocuousFarmer
No. That’s v cool.
Number theory is one of the toughest and least intuitive branches of mathematics.
It’s said to be, relatively, a bit more difficult for mathematicians to “visualize”.

Hmmm, sounds like a dark curse:
You might need this!!!
@tinamarie1974 kind of reminds me of the “bug spray” they spayed on our flight to South Africa during a layover in Dakar. “Don’t worry, it’s been cleared by the WHO.” I feel so much better…
@ybmuG it reminds me of Easter mass. The priest burns palms and walks around with this thing spreading smoke around the church
@tinamarie1974 @ybmuG I wonder what movie that gif is from?
@therealjrn @ybmuG is there a way to figure that out? It looks interesting
@therealjrn @tinamarie1974 I’ve tried the image search from both Google and Bing without result, though it was from my phone. Definitely looks like a movie I would watch, or at least give a try.
@tinamarie1974 @ybmuG Yeah, me too. That priest looks like he’s getting ready to kick some devil ass.
@therealjrn @ybmuG RIGHT!! I was thinking vampire, but yes! Let me see if I can find it again.
@tinamarie1974 @ybmuG Vampire? You need garlic for vampires. Everybody knows that.
From the aspect ratio it looks like an older movie converted for a CRT (tube TV) There was a bunch of those back then…come to think of it,there’s a bunch of those now…hm.
Guess that wasn’t much help.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@therealjrn @ybmuG I tried looking and got nowhere fast
@therealjrn @tinamarie1974 yeah, but you made good time!
it just means you’re three away from 669, which is a very auspicious number that only cool people have.
@carl669 don’t you mean only fucking cool people have?
@carl669 I know it’s not 669, but what about 6999?
@ybmuG it’s divisible by 3, so you’re off to a good start
@carl669 And ONLY by 3. The result, 2,333 being a prime number
@ybmuG i’d say you stay there then, but let us consult the mehcronomicon.
“prime numbers are the best fucking numbers. so say we all.”
@carl669 So, just listening to some Nox Arcana - great music for the season! I think it might be what I play for the candy snatchers on Halloween.
