What do you do with your old Meh t-shirts?
8I know y’all have dozens of them. So what happens when the magic is gone and it’s time for…other purposes?
In bread-making circles they talk a lot about “tea towels” as something to hold dough in, or to cover dough while it’s rising, but I prefer using an old t-shirt. More whimsical, for one thing.

I keep wearing them. They are magic forever.
Yup, I cherish them. About half of a drawer is devoted to Meh shirts, something for every occasion. Granted, I also work at a university and attend conferences with lots of swag, so I get a LOT of free shirts. Makes my shirts last much, much longer.
It has a cat on it.
@narfcake
have you reached 1000 owned yet?
@communist Total? Yes – and that’s not counting my non-shirt.woot shirts.
At least I’m nowhere near the top when it comes to TeeTurtle shirts. That’s been confirmed years ago already by the owner.
@narfcake Has a cat on it? You’re kidding. Right? (snark
)
@Kidsandliz I only wear catshirts on days that end in ‘y’.
@narfcake

/image what days don’t end in y?
@Kidsandliz @narfcake when I wear a shirt it always ends up with a cat on it. Even if it didn’t start with one. So all shirts are cat shirts.
@Kidsandliz
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
At least 7 of the days.
@unksol My cats do a pretty good job of not leaving their cat hair everywhere. They wouldn’t have passed CPSC and Pennsylvania laws otherwise.
@unksol yeah me too.

/image cat on your shirt
@unksol well not what I intended but pretty funny.
@narfcake What you only have fake cats???
@Kidsandliz They don’t act fake, though.

@Kidsandliz Perhaps you should post the rules for the wearing of cat shirts.
i don’t think of any of my Meh. shirts as old. i have 1 with a “k” on it, that i “cherish”
/youtube cherish is a word that i use to describe
@Yoda_Daenerys Holy crap! That was my favorite song in 6th grade. Went to see them in concert (along with a few other groups that need money now) and they were old. (somehow I’m not) Then again 12 speakers behind them…must have lost some hearing. The bands that were touring together had a gig almost every night in a different city. They were way too old to still be doing that. So my advice would be, if your garage band goes on the road, save some money for old age.
My purple Meh shirts are starting to wear out. So sad.
@Barney How are you at baking snicker-doodles?
@therealjrn Not good, but I have a friend who makes wonderful snicker doodles.
I am saving them all to make a Meh T-shirt quilt but don’t have enough old ones yet.
@callow
I plan on making a quilt too, but I’m too lazy at this point.
Old shirts that still fit go into either round the house or yard work rotation.
@unksol Do they get much yard work done?
My shirt drawer has 4 categories:
I often use my dark Meh shirts for working in the garage etc…stains don’t show the same. The Wetbike shirts are my other “normal” wear and the College/Family/Funny shirts make special occasion events.
I didn’t know that anyone else had even heard of Wetbikes, much less had rallies for them.
I only ever saw one in 1979-80, in a local cycle shop, and always wanted to ride one.
@PhysAssist

i burn them with thermite, as prescribed by the mehcronomicon.
“for they that would wish to dispose of a sacred meh shirt, burn that shit. at 4000 fucking degrees. so say we all.”
