I do not ever wear anything other than sandals unless the temperature drops consistently below 50 degrees, or I’m vacationing somewhere I’ll need close-toed shoes.
@PooltoyWolf same; I have some boots and a pair of tennis shoes for occasions where such are called for, and a pair of dress shoes under some protest, but the vast majority of the time I’m wearing sandals.
I wear Vibram Fivefingers year round. The Vi-B are my current favorites. I do admit they are hideous but my feet feel good and that is all that matters.
@callow I’ve been wearing them for over 15 years now. They’re very comfortable in the fact that i’m used to them and my toes have the room spread out. Also I run naturally warm and my feet appreciate being cooler. I tried some tennis shoes on a while back and my toes cramped due to being constricted.
@pmarin Huh, I looked up the Amoji out of curiosity. The larger number of smaller holes looks like they’d be more comfortable - more ventilation; but they give me a bit of trypophobia discomfort.
Usually on my feet for about ten hours a day so I wear sneakers with added plantar fasciitis inserts both of which get replaced often. I did try crocs but wasn’t crazy about them.
An odd coincidence! Like the one just above I use “boat shoes,” now a 10-15 year old pair of Rockports, but I wear them with socks. I have a newer pair of Beans which I wear if I want to look cleaner. As an aside, these type of shoes are terrible on ice and I have not found them particularly stable in water. Are they good on boats, or do you slide around?
During my 6 weeks in Eastern Europe I wore Guess sneakers or Rip Curl flip flops. While running I wore ASICS Kayanos. Walking through OB in San Diego I wore my flip flops. If I got dressed up for something I would wear stilettos.
Long story short, depended on the purpose of the footwear at the moment.
(cheap) clogs around the house. There is a pair stashed at each door for when I go outside.
Barefoot generally inside the house.
River shoes if I’m leaving the property.
The souls of the dammed.
No free feet content. Gotta pay to see the piggies.

@jsfs @PooltoyWolf
Same, but I’ll also throw on a pair of ventilated crocs from time to time.
Yes, I did wear them all summer. And they smell like it.
Flip flops
@chuckf1
slippahs
My Oofos flip flops. But I like @yakkoTDI’s choice, think I will do that next summer
When I remembered or had a break from endless video conference calls; socks. (Yeah, that was a build-up to nothing… sad commentary on my summer).

@kjady
Wow, those are comfortable?
I was surprised to find foot gloves when looking to see what they were!

@kjady They don’t look comfortable. I’ve worn toe socks and my feet were colder (without shoes) because my toes weren’t snuggling together.

Crocs of some kind. though due to price and availability I started to use some Amoji brand (yes, like stupid emojis but with an A).
that’s pretty much all I wear except for long walks/exercise (a rare occurrence) or heavy garden work where I’d need boots. (also a rare occurrence)

Clogs
Sandals AND socks.
Yes, I’m one of those old “socks and 'Stocks” guys, and I don’t apologize for it.
Lightweight cotton ankle socks for summer, heavy-duty wool socks until there gets to be snow on the ground or REALLY cold (like 20-25 F)
Usually on my feet for about ten hours a day so I wear sneakers with added plantar fasciitis inserts both of which get replaced often. I did try crocs but wasn’t crazy about them.
I telework so bearfoot 90% of the time. Tennis shoes to do yardwork.
@ronaldr321mehBearfoot?
Crocs
I was surprised that wasn’t on the list too…
@DJ I wear regular crocs in the summer and fuzzy crocs in the winter. I bought a boot dryer for the fuzzy ones and it really keeps the stench down.
My running shoes.
@capnjb Looks like good motivation to not run.
Bates Durashocks with safety toe. Same as winter. I work IT and production support and much of my time is spent in a factory or warehouse environment.
Boat shoes, Sperry in particular. I have two pair I switch between. No socks.

Slippers while I’m at home, flip-flops when I leave the house.
Tennies or toes.
Danner hiking shoes. I have an old foot injury and they give me the support I need to be comfortable.

Long story short, depended on the purpose of the footwear at the moment.
For work I wear walking shoes.
When not working I wear sandals with “no show” socks, which do show with sandals, but they are comfortable, and I don’t care what other people think.
An old pair of sport flip-flops, which means they’re kind of heavy duty
They are five years old and falling apart and way worn down
I need to buy some new ones

Barefoot generally inside the house.
River shoes if I’m leaving the property.
Mesh flats that look like loafers, sort of.
I don’t play tennis…
