@shahnm I was going to say something to the effect of “I’ll have you know it’s only 88 now, thank you,” but it appears to have warmed back up in the last few days… it was 94 today and it’ll be 97 tomorrow. Monday, though, says 89. Still, we had almost five days that weren’t over 90. We had a few lows in the 60s! One might have even been in the 50s. It looks like we will see a few upper 60s next week, too.
I’ve been very pleased that this year the low temperatures have been getting to the low 80s and upper 70s instead of the low to high 90s like they stay some years. It’s not helping much with the high temperatures, but it’s still something.
I’m looking forward to the fecking ARRIVAL of Fall. It was 97F here today. Nothing in the forecast for the next ten days hints at a temp that would be regarded as less than OMFG in the northern states.
@phendrick
I’m just getting settled back into paying my utilities and so far I’ve been pretty happy. Don’t know what this winter is going to bring, heat is definitely overrated!
Six months ago we just came back to the condo. It had been almost 4 years of it being empty while we cared for my mother in law. Of course the 25 year old HVAC system needed to be replaced one month in but I knew that was coming as it was the original unit. So with the new system, much more efficient than the old one, my utility bill has only been around $130 a month on the average and that’s running the AC 24/7 at 67°. Yes I keep it that cool, these darn custom made compression stockings are like snow pants and even at 67° sometimes I’m still hotter than heck! We’ll see what happens this winter when it’s going to be like pulling teeth to make me turn on the heat. My guy likes to say I’m a tight wad but HE can bundle up AND it promotes snuggling! Like I said, heat is so overrated!
The sudden stop
@tweezak I usually wake up first.
Football and basketball.
Hunting with my dogs.
Back yard and garage cooling off so I can work comfortably. Harvesting our carrots and potatoes, and the last tomatoes and peppers from the garden.
College football, and also that it will eventually be summer again…
Hunting season.
I ordered a resin frog purse on instagram, and if it’s not a scam, I should get it. Eventually. No sign of it yet. Hoping for Halloween.
When fall and winter are over and it gets warm again.

The extended holidays (time off from work).
Thank you for not putting Pumpkin Spice as a choice on the poll.
