@brennyn I raked plenty as a kid and in the first couple of decades of adulthood. But I’m with you on the “need” for it. I mean, it’s okay. They make good compost, I think. We used to love jumping in the piles. I hate to be such a Boomer, but I’m even grateful for the discipline of it. But I don’t get why some folks think it’s so important.
Speaking of childhood, I have no use at all for raking pine needles, which my otherwise kind mother had us do a few times. To be fair, I probably took it too seriously. Those little fuckers are elusive and I was determined to be thorough.
Least? The last official day of the season and the day after, one of which is on my driver’s license. I strive to ignore it, because a guarantee of nothing is preferable to the history it has contained. I loathe the holiday season
The impending end of it and the inevitable eventuality of another godawful summer. I do love Winter, perhaps as much as or more than Fall, but their end marks the oncoming doom of Summer. Spring can be nice, but not so much in the shithole that is Texas.
Artificial “Pumpkin Spice” flavor in everything.
Shorter days.
@Pony But the nights are longer. And arguably the days aren’t shorter, just darker.
@joelmw But I am night blind, so I can’t drive during the dark parts. It sucks.
The sudden stop
If you don’t like raking leaves, you can just not do it. I don’t I’ve ever seen someone doing it in real life.
@brennyn Everyone around me uses those goddam earsplitting leaf blowers instead!

@joelmw I completely agree with all of this altho I’ve never lived in Texas so can’t speak to that part
I planted some stuff in containers and now I have to figure out how to winterize them cause I don’t want them to die.
Not so much in the fall, but in the winter my skin gets dry - I hate the split fingertips.
The end of daylight savings time.
Now there’s the poll response I needed lol. I hate winter so much that fall has just become awful by association
