It is incredibly sad. I think the worst is that he received very poor medical care until reaching the hospital (at which time it was too late). Here's something from the Huffington Post (in English):

Perhaps he couldn't have been saved, but there are local stories of untrained people who have just seen cpr on tv keeping heart attack victims alive for 20-30+ min until the ambulance arrived (way out in the boonies).

According to the article, there was no attempt at any first aid, either while on the field, or en route to the hospital.

Even if they wouldn't have been able to save his life, just reading about how they proceeded, it seems insufficient.
