I agree, cute idea for an EV. Those are much better than ‘truckticles’.
Even though personally I think that’s a Photoshop job it may make for a good aftermarket product idea.
@f00l@PhysAssist I’m trying to think of an aspect on a CT that’s NOT flawed – and I couldn’t think of one, whether it’s the design or workmanship.
Body? Fit and finish, along with the aspect that despite being stainless, it still rusts. Glass? Windshields and roofs have spontaneously cracked due to the thermal expansion/contraction of the body. Trim? There was a recall due to panels falling or flying off. Wiper? They have flown off before and there was also a recall for the motor. Pedals? Those were recalled too for breaking. Motors? Numerous failures of the rear drive unit, and also a recall. Battery? Many failed 48V ones too. Seats? Many reports of driver’s seats rocking. Frame? It’s cast aluminum and towing shenanigans aside, more than one has cracked. Despite having 4-wheel steering, its turning circle is worse than a Suburban. Rear headroom is compromised due to its shape. The headlights are useless in snow due to it being recessed above the bumper. The tonneau cover leaks, the tailgate bends … I’m seriously trying to think of an aspect they got right, and I can’t think of one.
@f00l@narfcake
Funny too, I can’t remember how I got there, but there was an article about a CT wanna-be owner, who, 1/2 hour prior to delivery, got a call from the Tesla dealer cancelling the delivery because the CT had become bricked at the dealership, and would require a new power unit [battery pack].
He did not sound terribly off-put by the experience, and the [Tesla Fan-boy] commenters lauded Tesla’s customer service, but honestly???
Shouldn’t something that catastrophic have been caught in the QA/QC department prior to leaving the factory?
Ok then.
And when they fall off they will definitely not be picked up!
Blue? Sorry.
Perfect for an EV or hybrid truck!
@mehcuda67 That’s brilliant!
@mehcuda67 Yes, that’s an electric Ford.

@Cerridwyn
No…just no!
@chienfou they look even weirder in the wild. Trust me
@Cerridwyn
I bet!
@Cerridwyn @chienfou I’ve yet to see such in person – thankfully.
Yesterday, I did see a CT in its native habitat, though – on the back of a flat bed. It’s still one of the better ones; at least it made it out of the delivery center …

Better than photoshop!

@blaineg
Nice!
I’ve seen a far assorted my cyber trucks around Austin.
I always assume I’m looking at a vehicle driven by some Elon bro
Most of Austin seems to find them faintly ridiculous or seriously ridiculous
These are not true Texas pick ups
You sure can’t put a round bale of hay in the back of one of them
And I don’t think they’d sub for a tractor in a pinch.
@f00l That breaks it.
@narfcake
My neighbors do this sort of thing with their pick ups
None of them are using cyber trucks
@narfcake
@f00l Well given that they’d void the warranty …
… yeah, nobody can do “truck stuff” with that “truck”.
@narfcake
They should lead all the cybertruck advertisements with that highlighted text.
/image “public ego display”

@f00l I think ‘exposure to sunlight’ is the better one. Or is it wind? Or water?
/8ball
Yes
@f00l @narfcake that is because they are one of the few people who “NEED” a truck that big
and not just because their penis needs enlargement
@f00l @narfcake
I just saw the thread on that on Imgur yesterday and about died laughing.
Talk about design flaws…

@f00l @PhysAssist Maybe from my post on Saturday?

As for QC – there is none. Besides, I’m pretty sure the customers are still beta testing them.
One other recall: the tires were damaged due to the original hubcaps design. They were chewing into the sidewall which can result in a blowout.
@Cerridwyn @narfcake
The cyber truck is actually kinda tiny. About the size of a compact SUV to my quick estimate.
I’m guessing it’s quite a bit smaller than a Ford ranger let alone smaller than a full size pickup
If it’s considered to be a vehicle for utility I honestly don’t know what it’s for
If it’s considered to be a vehicle for tribal affiliation with Elon and for image enhancement well then I guess there’s a market people do buy them
@narfcake @PhysAssist
Re flaws: isn’t there videl of a door falling off upon opening or closing?
@Cerridwyn @f00l It’s 223" long, so definitely not compact SUV sized. Longer than a Tacoma or Ranger, shorter than a Silverado or F150 crew cab.
As for the entire door falling off … no (not yet). The inner door panel does break apart when the door is slammed, however.
@Cerridwyn @narfcake
they look tiny to me when I see them on the road.
Oh well.
That’s just too freaking funny!
@PhysAssist
The giant wire-nuts I mean…
