Feels like the last days of Kmart clearance. I don’t need it, but 1.50 for fun shoes for my niece and nephew? SOLD! 405TH Speaker, SOLD. 32 Backpack SOLD!
@chienfou looks like you’re right. I found this on the web:
This is a commercial for the Danish supermarket chain called “Fakta,” and their slogan is “Stay A Little Longer,” so look at the prank they played on a customer!
@cbl_wv I believe there is a 12 step program for that. It goes something like this step 1 go to the website, step 2 long in, step 3 see what is for sale, step 4 there is nothing you like go to morningsave, step 5 while you are at it go to sidedeal, step 6 scroll through everything, step 7 click on buy, step 8 when it arrives pull the mailing label off, step 9 find someone on meh you want to send this crap to, step 10 make a new mailing label, step 11 go to the post office, step 12 mail it off to someone else. Problem solved. You can still buy but not add to the junk in your house.
@blaineg@chienfou Beyond attempting to pump-and-dump, I’m not sure he ever had a strategy. In the past 15 years, he’s managed to extract the all the real estate value from under the stores (by divesting them into another holding company) and turned Craftsman tools to Harbor Freight quality. Kenmore alone used to command over a quarter of the major appliances market; it’s probably closer to zero nowadays.
/giphy shop smart, shop s-mart

@djslack
hey… is that in Denmark?
@chienfou idk, she probably did think it was pretty rotten though.
@djslack
ouch!

Pouring one out for Big K
@ThomasF Just drink it and then pour out the dregs…
@2many2no Dying them blue first
They still exist? The stores around here closed down years ago.
@blaineg There’s still 35 remaining.
@blaineg @narfcake
Sadly, yeah and they pulled Sears down with them.
Craftsman tools used to be top notch…
@blaineg @chienfou Neither store “got with the times” when they merged, and both are destined to become another page for the history books.

@chienfou @narfcake I read something a while ago that said Eddie Lampert’s strategy was to personally profit by destroying Sears. Looks like it worked.

@blaineg @chienfou @narfcake I hate giving this comment a star, because I hate that this happened.
