@Kyeh@pmarin@werehatrack Larouche & Paulsen were both perpetual presidential candidates, weren’t they? Of the two, I’d say Pat Paulsen was more credible. I always liked him on the Smothers Brothers show.
@blaineg@Kyeh LOL, Gracie Allen managed to pull thousands of votes despite pulling out of the presidential race (allegedly due to concerns of distracting from real issues).
Had seen that someone did a legal name change to
Literally Anybody Else
and was applying to be on ballots in multiple states.
We have wonderful easy vote-by-mail here; I didn’t check mailbox since it was Sunday. Postage-paid ballot should be there by tomorrow or in next few days. Curious to see who will be on there. There is signature required and bipartisan volunteers checking. All is on paper and stored so it’s auditable. It’s a really great system!
Maybe we need to tighten the “qualifications”, all you need is 1,000 signatures and a $500 fee.

@pakopako Such a great show for the first couple years!
We lived in San Francisco briefly a long time ago, and one of the candidates for the Board of Supervisors was “Nun of the Above.”
@Kyeh Did they win?
@blaineg No.
But:
3545 Years Ago Today, Jello Biafra Came In Fourth In the S.F. Mayoral Racehttps://www.sfweekly.com/music/35-years-ago-today-jello-biafra-came-in-fourth-in-the-s-f-mayoral-race/article_104b162c-ab42-5d92-9738-b789e936ca0d.html
@blaineg @Kyeh it’s disconcerting that I immediately recognized the name Jello Biafra
@blaineg @pmarin Well, it says something about how old we are …
@blaineg @Kyeh @pmarin I remember Lyndon Larouche. Hell, I recall when Pat Paulsen got on the ballot for something.
@blaineg @pmarin @werehatrack And there was Ralph Nader - playing spoiler for several elections.
@blaineg @Kyeh @pmarin @werehatrack I don’t think they really spoiled anything. Ross Perot actually made it to the national stage … Three decades ago?

I’d have voted for him if I was old enough.
@blaineg @Kyeh @pmarin I sure miss Uncle Jello and Aunt Puddin’

If only Jill Stein took politics as seriously.
@brainmist @Kyeh I had no idea Gracie ran for President. That’s great!
@blaineg @brainmist I didn’t know that either!
Apparently he goes by “Lucy”, and he lives in New Hampshire.
@blaineg Wow, the color balance wasn’t nearly that bad on the photo I posted.
It’s true. Here is the pdf direct from utah.gov.

@cengland0 You doubt me? Me?

It’s just a name.
@806D2701 it’s very distinguished

Where’s Pat Paulsen when we need him?
@blaineg And 22 minutes of many campaigns, if you can handle that much.
That’s confusing. Someone might vote for Lucifer when they meant to vote for [SELF-REDACTED] not realising it is a different person.
Quick shoutout to Vermin Supreme.
@806D2701 Hah - TIL!
Bold assumption to think Lucifer isn’t the lesser.
