VMP Question.
2Can someone explain VMP to me? So if I don't buy anything from meh one month but was still charged for that month, is that just a lose to me? I don't buy from meh much but was going to keep VMP active for if I ever do but don't want to just lost $5 every month. Thanks.

Yes and no. If you're keeping it active all the time, then yes - you'll be losing some $5 bills along the way. But, assuming you can remember to cancel, it's always worth it to get it if/when you make a purchase. Cancel at the end of the period if you haven't bought anything else, or let it ride for a while; you essentially have a one-month grace period, because you can cancel and get refunded your $5 but then charged any shipping charges you would've paid.
So, if I buy a 12-pack of ferret toys tomorrow, I would either pay $5 to ship, or pay $5 for VMP. No-brainer, go for VMP. A week from now, meh offers up a backpack that's actually just a giant bluetooth speaker, and I think 'oh hey that's neat'. Good to go, because of VMP.
But let's say they hadn't offered up that backpack speaker, or a fourfer of headband watches, or anything else that I need. If I cancel the same month, I get refunded for VMP and then charged for the ferret toys. Same outcome - I paid $5 for shipping for that month. If I hold off, I get charged for the next month. Still no jars of pure unadulterated purple or anything else useful - now I cancel before this month is up, I get my second $5 payment back, and I'm not charged anything because I didn't buy anything. If I had continued to hold off, I would be past the point of no return - once that month is up, it's a $5 wash.
@brhfl I love purple.
@brhfl You're right except for that whole refund and recharge during the first month thing. If you cancel in the first month after buying something you get nothing back because you used the benefit. There's no funny math if refunds and makeup charges.
@PurplePawprints I think I was right, but unclear, so let's see… Just to verify: if you buy exactly one item w/ VMP and then cancel during that month, you are paying the same as if you had never bought it because -$5 for VMP, +$5 for VMP refund, -$5 for shipping for one item. Correct?
@brhfl But there are no refunds and shipping recharges. You bought vmp and you bought an item that was shipped for free. You then canceled vmp and that is the end of your financial dealings with Meh until you choose to buy something else.
@PurplePawprints @brhfl
But if your VMP renews and then you don't buy anything with that fresh VMP you will be refunded the $5 so long as you cancel it before it renews for another month.
@Ignorant Right, which is why in my first comment I specified he was only incorrect about the refund in the first month.
@PurplePawprints Ahh, ok, got it - same outcome, different order of operations, fewer transactions.
@brhfl All right, who leaked our product inventory list?
@brhfl Thanks so much for answering. I had thought if I kept it active and didn't use it, I'd have some type of credit for future months. Obviously this is not the case, so thanks for explaining.
Take tonight's item....if you buy it, its still a lose / lose
