What if you renamed the company "@Midnight ET"? Maybe It would be harder to complain that way. (I just missed out on the kickstarter fuku by a short time. Bet those puppets are collectors items now.)
@thismyusername Giff, giff, giff, and I ain't referring to Frank Gifford, either! (IT Boy I birth continues to roll eyes in my direction. "Mom, don't do this to me. It's jif and you know it") Also, "meem," so there!
@LaVikinga You tell him, mom. And while you're at it, lecture him on the origin of 'meme': '...meme was coined by Richard Dawkins in his 1976 book The Selfish Gene, as an attempt to explain the way cultural information spreads. Internet memes are a subset of this general meme concept specific to the culture and environment of the Internet...' (Wiki, 29 Apr 2016) It ought to get another of those precious eyerolls.
@OldCatLady And while you're at it, putting words on a picture doesn't make it a meme. That's just a meme attempt, until it spreads in the manner Dawkins described.
Just had a discussion about file formats at work with a graphic designer and a programmer. One guy said gif, one said jiff, and for fun I alternated between the two according to the last person that said it, but they didn't notice or say anything about it. I prefer gif like Gifford, for the exact reason the gif above states. They're graphics, not giraffics.
@LaVikinga More fun is coming. Someday, even tho you feel like you'd just go clubbing or motorcycle from Alaska to Patagonia, or ski K2, if you just didnt have so many effing responsibilites, you look in the mirror and get total cognitive dissonance
Like "Who is that Old Fuck in the mirror?"
And shortly thereafter you accept that it's you. And shortly after that you decide to spend the rest of your life refusing to be bothered by all sorts of petty crap that once bothered you.
@f00l I've suddenly developed an "eff 'em" approach. My most recent birthday hit kinda hard so I'm crossing off the list of things I want to do before I can't. Have been sporting lavender streaks in my hair, mostly along my hairline for the last two months. I dragged the Mister to a few concerts because I was tired of missing bands. Told him he could either worry if I went by myself, or he could come with me and expand his horizons. I'm starting off gently with him. Mark Knopfler was easy to talk him into. Robert Plant took a little more convincing. I was a bit too young to see Zeppelin when I was growing, so when Plant rolled through, I knew it would be the closest I'd ever get. Seeing newer bands are going to take some doing. I'm gonna fight getting older with everything I've got. And maybe hoist up the ol' freak flag more often, too.
@LaVikinga I was going to the 'Welcome to Rockville' festival this weekend, but then ZZ Top member Dusty Hill broke his shoulder, and Disturbed canceled, so I won't bother. And it's going to be 91 again tomorrow. Otherwise I would have gone, and I'll be 66 tomorrow. Megadeth, Anthrax, Lamb of God... Check out the concert tour, it may be coming near you. http://welcometorockvillefestival.com/
@OldCatLady @LaVikinga I love the music, but i hate the crowds. So i dont go anymore. Would do an exception for free tix to something intriguing, or s band i like. Would buy tix for a Led Zep reunion, or decent Stones seats, even if it's all greyhairs in the audience. I dont wanna miss if KR croaks onstage.
Led Zep in around the time of the 2nd or 3rd album was the loudest concert i ever attended. Couldnt hear properly for 3 days after. And their pants were so tight them must have been sewn on.
@f00l MTV Live channel has been airing festivals since last year, and nobody told me. Glastonbury 2015, hour by hour and year by year, kept me enthralled all this week. Hangout Festival 2014 is on now. Sonisphere, lots of tour footage- Pink: Funhouse Live Australia, Beyonce I Am...,
@f00l Back in my formative years I had a particular poster of Robert Plant and his pants. Made me aware of the not so subtle differences between the sexes.
@Steve7654 I'm currently living in the land of Skynrd. I think I could easily drag my husband to see Heart. Those girls can still hit those notes. @OldCatLady I may have a girl crush on Pink.
@OldCatLady Down in OP, and may I say I HATE Blanding!!!! Lived here when my Dad was in the Navy and then cycled through a few times when my husband was stationed at Cecil & Jax. Never thought we'd be back in our first "baby" house, but retirement and then job opportunities have kept us here. (The list left off Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. My kids are friends with one of the band member's brother & sister.)
@LaVikinga We HAVE to meet for coffee. I'm off Collins. When/where is good for you? I've got a purple meh shirt to wear. (I can edit the wiki, or you can. Must keep the world informed.)
@LaVikinga That's ok, I pronounced it Me Me for the longest time. Someone finally took pity on me and told me it was meem. It doesn't make sense that it's pronounced that way but as long as I'm saying like everyone else, I'm good..lol...and I say GIF not JIF.
@OldCatLady We'll have to plan a local Meh get together soon. I'd say this week, but eldest Little Dog (she's a 10 year old mini Aussie) will be having thoracic surgery soon to remove a pocket of infection of what looks like a lower lobe of her lung. She & I meet with the surgeon on Monday. Initial path report said no cancer detected, so I have my fingers crossed he'll be able to work enough magic that she'll have a rapid and easy recovery period.
@LaVikinga Okay, I've added the link to Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Wishing very good luck to Little Dog, and let me know when you can schedule a mehmeetup. Is there anyone else in driving distance who'd like to get together? @Teripie might like to escape her gun-wielding neighbors but that's a looong drive.
I need another Mountain Dew.
@Barney
Didnt know Mountain Dew came in Grape. I want!!!
Can i get that at 7-11 or is that more a Central Market item?
@f00l Mtn Dew KickStart comes in Black Cherry which looks kinda purple in my glass.
@Barney
Ahhhhhhhhh!
@f00l @Barney I saw this today but did not try it, I've cut way back on caffeine: http://www.mountaindew.com/blacklabel/
Dark Berry so it may also be purple.
I'm not allowed any caffeine, but when I was watching @snapster, it seemed like a good idea.
What if you renamed the company "@Midnight ET"? Maybe It would be harder to complain that way.
(I just missed out on the kickstarter fuku by a short time. Bet those puppets are collectors items now.)
@KDemo this guy might have something to say about that...
@KDemo That's what meh stands for: Midnight Eastern Hour
@cengland0 @Mehdnight?
@thismyusername Giff, giff, giff, and I ain't referring to Frank Gifford, either! (IT Boy I birth continues to roll eyes in my direction. "Mom, don't do this to me. It's jif and you know it")

@OldCatLady I think he's on team may-may. Although, he might be pulling my chain on this one. http://www.barstoolsports.com/dmv/turns-out-weve-been-pronouncing-meme-wrong-this-entire-time-its-really-pronounced-may-may/
@djslack
I alsp prefer your pronunciation but....
I would need to compare a giraffe gif and a graphics gif to be sure. Pls provide evidence.
@LaVikinga
How old is this wee genius relation of yours? Is he as old as the term?
@f00l I believe this is the giraffe interchange format. Just watch out for that bridge.
@djslack
Thx. The non-peanut-butter pronunciation is clearly correct.
@thismyusername - Never miss @midnight. Either one. And I say it like Chris Hardwick does, he always makes his point.
@f00l 27. It pains me to write this. Can't see how it's possible to have a child that old when I swear my brain thinks I'm still in my thirties!!!
@LaVikinga

@LaVikinga Heart is still touring, as well as Lynrd Skynrd; both put on excellent shows.
@f00l Back in my formative years I had a particular poster of Robert Plant and his pants. Made me aware of the not so subtle differences between the sexes.

@mehbee Meme like Theme and GIF like Gift. Of course my brain still insists on reading "indict" as "indickt."
English is a fabulously weird language.

tl;dr paper bag @snapster is still creepy as fuck. and something about east coast whiners.
@carl669 I disagree my day would be better if everyone interacted with me in paper bag form.
@MrMark
This is both true and profound.
Mehdnight.....
Between today's write-up and this video I've learned a lot about making mediocre sausage. Make it stop!
TBH, I love the insights, the brains behind the clickface. Thanks for the education.
Why dont his eyes roll around and focus? That face, with its lack of expression, doesnt really come across as his real face, more uncanny valley.
What, way too much plastic surgery and botox??? I spoze there's such a thing as toooooo much Amazon $$$$$.
@f00l It is a nice tie.
I love that the midnight launch began as a simple logistical solution. Anybody got a peanut?
@Thumperchick
@Thumperchick
@Thumperchick Oh, what I wouldn't give for a holocaust cloak.
I usually lunch around noon.
It's unsettling how serious this video was.
Anyone else see the background as small video cubes sitting on shelves? Or do you see a pair of multi-paned windows with deep mullions?
Also, what color is Snapster's bag?
@walarney At first they looked like phones or tablets on shelves.
@walarney - I thought he was in some kind of underground aquarium. Seemed incongruous, but didn't really dwell on it.
@KDemo
Yeah i thought weird aquarium. Dunno.
Is this CEO a puppet? Or is @snapster the puppet master?
@tomvarela both.
Nice work if you can get it. Apparently, it gets you an office with a unique view...a concrete bunker under the sea or at Monterey Bay Aquarium.
So .... with those monitors in the background I couldn't help but think that you were trying to be a new villain for an upcoming James Bond movie
Bagfinger?
@somf69 Perhaps mehdlefinger?
It must be frustrating for the CEO of your company to never be able to look you in the eyes. How can you tell if this bag-man is sincere?
Holy crap! I use that same background music in my iOS game WikiHunt. I’ve heard it so many times I had a hard time listening to the CEO.
