Ya know, USPS really has gone to crap since Mid Jan 2015... it seems that is the time they put some cost savings plan into effect. It has really goofed up my netflix by mail blurays.... so much that netflix is now sending your next bluray as soon as they see the post office has 'scanned' your returned disc. Before the postal changes mid jan 2015 I could mail pretty much anywhere and it would take 1 day to arrive, now takes minimum of 2 average of 3.
I am lucky that USPS turns around my package within only a few hours of getting it from the snail. I am unlucky in that the snail takes 6-10 days to get it to them.
You got that right. My favorite is when the tracking shows as delivered and I haven't gotten any mail at all that day. It's almost like they skip delivery. They usually bring it the next day but it's really annoying.
USPS has been suffering the death of a thousand cuts since congress passed the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act of 2006. Here's an article from 2011 on the topic for you to TL:DR back at me. (Of course, this does not preclude the possibility of personal vendettas and general pissyness on the part of some individuals.) I want to see our Postal Service recover and thrive so I was happy to read Texan populist Jim Hightower on the topic of letting the USPS get back into banking and to find out there was "A Grand Alliance to Save Our Public Postal Service." I'm a sap for real mail, from the time when I discovered I could send something across country for a nickel to some other lonely weirdo who'd discovered the joy of pen pals right up to a few days ago when a hand-addressed envelope with an odd assortment of old commemorative stamps arrived and caused me to grin from ear to ear, even before I opened it. Considering the ridiculous burden placed on the USPS by politicians, I think they're still doing a good job. Just hope there's enough interest in stopping the bloodletting before it's too late.

I think it is personal vendettas. The mailman, excuse me "postal carrier" delivers my stuff, but the husband's stuff languishes an extra day.
Netflix still mails discs?
