URL autocomplete, A to Z
5Inspired by @dave's A-G list in the thread I'm too lazy to link to, anyone feel like posting what URL pops up in their autocomplete through the alphabet? I'll do mine in the comments, because of length, but a few things stood out to me, the biggest one being that I guess I don't use many 'p' sites, as I only visited the DC pope page a handful of times to view closure maps. Quite a few of the results are similar — stuff I really don't visit often, but just unpopular URL letters, I suppose. X found an X in the middle of a URL, Q came up with no URLs.

@brhfl is Jet.com still alive? ;-) 'Tried my darnedest to buy something there. Failed.
@RedOak It actually only made my list because of the thread about it going free here yesterday. Spent some time browsing around, finding very little, being a bit confused by pricing…
Fujix-forum? I got xfinity.com
@OldCatLady I just don't go anywhere that starts with 'x,' I guess! The Fuji X forum is for the camera system I use…

@Thumperchick Hah, love your 'v,' and I hadn't seen/played 2048 before. Reminds me of 'Threes,' only… with twos! Got 1488 first game, fun stuff.
@Thumperchick No judging for your 'H'. My 'H' would be an email site too, that I still use: howamazing.com. Started on it ages ago, now it's so defunct, I have to use a special search just to get to my login.

There's an odd bias towards sporting goods stores based off a recent search for canopies for tailgating.
@jqubed 'Mythological dogs,' awesome.
@brhfl I was trying to look up a dog some picture looked like. Couldn't find it.
That's interesting, the links aren't always breaking across lines:
cc: @Shawn @KatyLava
@jqubed it's stringing together parts of the url like one complete word.
@jqubed it's nothing specific to links... browsers will break words on a hyphen

I realized that I typically leave 30 or so tabs open on my computer so I'm not constantly typing in URLS which made some of the places I frequent the most (meh.com anyone) not show up on the list. This list would have been much more work centric had I been closing tabs out on the regular.

@MEHcus I tend to have triple-digits worth of tabs open on my home machine, but a lot of that is because I start doing something else, and rather than finding an existing tab, I open a new copy to check on something. I bet I have like 15 mehs open at home right now.
@brhfl Oh yeah I've usually got 3 our 4 different windows open. I try to have a theme for each window so I don't duplicate tabs on windows but ultimately they all end up becoming one giant hodgepodge of crap.
@MEHcus My themes are like 'uh oh, this one's getting full,' and 'thirty middle clicks I'll never get around to.'

@dave That's an interesting link for z. I don't know why but I assumed that Amazon would have forced the integration immediately or something. I actually prefer Zappos design for shopping over Amazon's, so I don't mind if they are frozen :)
