Two two zero two two (February 2022 goat nominations)
8January is almost over already? Where has the time gone? I blame this month’s goat, @mediocrebot!
That also means it’s time to nominate another mehmber for the meh goat of the month. Or maybe not? It’s up to the community to decide!

I’m pretty sure that was coded incorrectly.
@mediocrebot
/giphy standing ovation
Does @Walterbird still want a turn at it?
@f00l Of course, I do. Do you think I want to be a bird all my life. I want to try being a goat for a while.
@f00l @Walterbird what is your platform? Irks for all? Fresh fruits daily?
@f00l @tinamarie1974 @Walterbird I think it’s “I shit where I please”.
@f00l @tinamarie1974 Why do I have to have a plaform? No other Goat had a platform. Am I being discriminated against because I am a bird.
@f00l @macromeh @tinamarie1974 I think that is a given because I already do(do).
@f00l @Walterbird well, simply because you have proactively advocated for yourself in the past I assumed you may have a platform to sway the vote.
@f00l @tinamarie1974 I would thought that being a bird running for the highest honor Meh could bestow would have been more than enough-obviously not as I sit here a bridesmaid and never a bride. So I remain silent letting my obvious qualification speak for themselves.
@f00l @Walterbird qualifications? I didn’t know there were any
/giphy giggle
@tinamarie1974
@Walterbird doesn’t need a platform there’s already a perch ready to go
@f00l @Walterbird see that is the witty type of response I was looking for
@f00l @tinamarie1974 @Walterbird
That’s an interesting way to look at it! I guess if that’s how you feel you probably deserve it!
@f00l @tinamarie1974 wish I would have said that
@f00l @Kyeh @tinamarie1974 Hey-it is not like I have that many choices in my life. I get excited when my owners compliment me because I don’t poop on the floor.
@f00l @tinamarie1974 @Walterbird No you sit there as a bird’s maid, never an eagle.
@f00l @Walterbird
Well if you believe in reincarnation we can cook
your gooseyou and then see what you come back as… That might be interesting.@f00l @Walterbird
But, this means @Waterbird will get the shortest month. We need 31 days of bird fun!
@f00l @kyeh @tinamarie1974 Obviously a slow day all around with those having a conversation with a bird.
@Felton10 Pretty busy day for the bird though!
It’s cold and snowy here so I’m happy to stay put and goof around in the forum. I heard that Florida is supposed to get some cold weather too - it’s that true?
@Felton10 @Kyeh I think those in FL think anything below 72 degrees is cold weather.
@Kyeh Mid to low 50s on Sat and Sunday with a low on Sunday morning of 34 where we are.
@Kidsandliz @Kyeh You got that right!!!
@Felton10 eh, I’ve been on conference calls ALL day. @Walterbird has provided a much appreciated distraction!
@Felton10 @tinamarie1974 Glad I could help.
@Felton10 That 34 will probably feel arctic to you; here it’s 29 at the moment and supposed to get down into the teens overnight.
@Felton10 @Kyeh
Well, it snowed in Athens Greece (and Istanbul) this week so… yeah, weather is weird.
@Felton10 @tinamarie1974 @Walterbird Bad bad bad tinamarie - multitasking on conference calls. LOL
@Kidsandliz @tinamarie1974 @Walterbird Better than doing what Jeffrey Tubin was doing.
@Felton10 @Kidsandliz @Walterbird but, but, but I was bored
/giphy sad face
View from my window, just now. I live next to a wildlife preserve.
@OldCatLady Oh dear.
@OldCatLady so pretty
@OldCatLady @tinamarie1974
Heads up… that’s not a clean shot with the house down range.
@chienfou @OldCatLady
/giphy shocked
@tinamarie1974
@chienfou did I ever show you this guy in my neighbors back yard? Took the pic from my living room window
@tinamarie1974
very nice. I seem to be living near a trail as I often see a handful of deer on either side of the road a couple of hundred yards from my house on the way home at night after work(around 2320-2335). It is often enough that I expect to see them, so I am not usually startled when one (or more) decides they really need to be on the opposite side of the road as I draw near.
@chienfou that is the only issue living in their environment. But personally, I think it is worth the risk
@chienfou
Venison for everyone! You can have mine too!
@mike808
There are some areas where they have become quite a pest
@chienfou @tinamarie1974
@chienfou @OldCatLady @tinamarie1974 hunting season has been over for like three weeks. At least(here). No cheap shots. The herd is out there everyday at dusk highlighted against the snow.
@tinamarie1974, @chienfou forgot to mention that the next time you see an elk he would like you to make a tiktok video of you trying to mount it and riding it like a horse.
@chienfou @tinamarie1974
This habit of theirs has made me wish they lived v far away from me.
@chienfou @njfan I would LOVE to go pet one. They are beautiful
And @unksol I took the pic during rutting season. There were two females very nearby he was checking out.
@chienfou @njfan @tinamarie1974 @unksol
Don’t pet one if they’re not tame. They supposedly have pea-sized brains, and they are known to attack sometimes.
Yes, when healthy, they are pretty But … real deer and Bambi have just about nothing in common.
@chienfou @f00l @tinamarie1974 Yes the habit of crossing the road not looking both ways. About a year ago I hit a young deer on a country highway. No way to miss it at 55mph. Killed it. Sad. I notice going the other direction it was gone from the highway shoulder. I guess someone was having fresh venison for dinner that night.
@chienfou @f00l @Kidsandliz @njfan @tinamarie1974 @unksol @OldCatLady
I have had lots of deer hanging out in my yard some years. Back in 2016 one mother doe brought her twin fauns into my yard:
@chienfou @f00l @njfan @unksol I would never, I know better. But I WANT to, they are just beautiful.
@Kyeh that is ADORABLE
@tinamarie1974 Aren’t they sweet?!
That same year, another doe hid her baby in the shrubbery while she browsed in my yard, and at one point the baby went over and nursed while she was eating.
@Kidsandliz
Mighty kind of you to pre-tenderize it for them!
@chienfou I needed to send them the deductible bill though for their dinner. Unfortunately they left before they paid me.
@Kyeh @tinamarie1974 When I lived in Scotland the deer their would leave their babies in little hollows on the sides of hills (no trees to speak of) while they were away eating. We came across a few of them. They stayed put while we passed them by (hard to see them until you were very close by) and looked from a distance. Amazing.
@Kidsandliz
@chienfou @f00l @njfan @tinamarie1974 idk I think they Bambi and real deer probably taste the same
@chienfou @f00l @njfan @tinamarie1974 how do you not know
/youtube feed the deer ride a pony
Yes I have been there
@chienfou @f00l @Kidsandliz @njfan @OldCatLady @tinamarie1974 @unksol
So we had a verdant summer and fall and I haven’t seen deer in the yard for quite a while, but it’s like this discussion summoned one, because look who showed up today:
@f00l @Kidsandliz @Kyeh @njfan @OldCatLady @tinamarie1974 @unksol
Google sent it to you after it tracked your posts on this forum…
Good gods! When did it become 22022!? How in the hell did I miss that!? Also: WHY in hell are we still using Bluetooth 20,000 years after 2022!? How long did that pandemic LAST!?
@mediocratic It’s 22022 and the pandemic still isn’t over. It’s not a pandemic anymore, it’s a way of life. Now that we’re 20,000 years in the future, we’re all sick with covid. We only call it a pandemic when one house hold actually tests negative.
@mediocratic @nonlion
In the Year 2525 (Exordium & Terminus)
Wait-are there now deers in competition with me for the next GOAT? No fair-they are just jolly come lateys.
I’m just hanging out eating my artichoke leaf. BTW-notice the metal bird sculpture my mother bought my father for his 75th birthday hanging on the wall to my right/ I even have competition at home now.
@Walterbird Not competition! A tribute. It’s really pretty!
@Walterbird no worries - goat, bird, deer… all dinner to some folks
@Kidsandliz @Walterbird There was an old Aussie joke that if you wanted to cook a parrot, throw the parrot and an old boot in a pot of boiling water. When the boot is tender, eat it and throw away the parrot.
Outside of a survival situation, it is uncommon to eat parrots because people enjoy these animals.
@Walterbird deer God, the humanity.
/giphy thank you bow
@Felton10 @Kidsandliz @njfan
You got this, @Walterbird.
@Felton10 @Kidsandliz @njfan
@Walterbird
There are goats-with-benefits, you know.
@Felton10 @Kidsandliz @mike808 @njfan How do I know that bird is of legal age-I don’t want to have the same problem as Matt Gaetz.
Nomehnee: @marylynne7
Reason: disturbing imagery and also won’t explain what happened to the first six marylnnes.
@njfan they were flawed. We kept working till we got perfection
Nohmehnee: @ironcheftoni
Reason: cooks with iron.
@njfan
/giphy iron skillet
@njfan I’d love a recipe-a-day month!
@njfan @ybmuG that would be amazing
@njfan @tinamarie1974 @ybmuG
It would, but I’m not going to blame the goat if that doesn’t happen.
