@JonT - the slime is called a biofilm and it will invariably build up in these unless you scrub or blast the inside with hot water and detergent. Although, a pure enough alcohol will also do the trick (as would UVC). I mehlieve that this item is worth exactly what meh is asking for it.
@tehtruth I heard apple cider vinegar does a good job stripping the matrix of the biofilm allowing an easier cleaning and you let it air out and the vinegar smell goes away.

Had a who-knows-what-brand version of this with company branding, took it to Disney World. It worked great until the cap split. I didn't think I was over-tightening it, but who knows. No knocks against this brand, I probably had some cheap Chinese knockoff.
I'm in for as many as Meh will let me buy, these are amazing. Filled it at a water fountain, sipped it whenever, folded flat into my pocket until I could refill it again. Also, collapsible = no sloshing (as long as you don't let air back in it).
PRO TIP: If filling at a water fountain or somewhere else where pressure is low, blow in it to expand it, sometimes the water doesn't have enough force to expand the pouch on it's own.
@Stormchaser How did you get the inside deslimed? I noticed with the pet drinking fountains that if you don't get in there with a brush the inside of the jar feels slimy after a while. I can't imagine how the heck you'd really get the inside of these cleaned since the opening is so small...
@Kidsandliz I don't think mine survived long enough to accumulate slime. I'd imagine there would be something out there to get into small openings. Maybe some sort of baby bottle brush? I also know there are tablets made to clean the inside of water bottles, just plop one in a full bottle and let it do it's thing. If all else fails...PRESSURE WASHER! ;)
@Kidsandliz They aren't long-term waterbottles, but something you use in specific circumstances. It's like any camelback-type product, eventually you have to replace the pouch. I picked up a couple because they're good for certain circumstances when having a waterbottle is a bigger pain than it's worth. I used the couple I had previously while traveling as I usually only bring a personal item.

This is a perfect solution to my issue! This one is just too small to be practical for that use. I would need more than the six MEH will let me have! Giggle. Bought one (er... two) primarily for use on flights. You're allowed to take empty bottles with you through security and then fill up in the airport. This will be a space-saving way to do so and save $$ on water.

I scored a dozen of these a few years ago- they're ok for water- but they are awesome for smuggling in tequila (or scotch/vodka/whiskey/etc.) into concerts or sports events, or any venue where a cocktail is needed, but carrying a flask is not ... appropriate.

I got mine today (in South Carolina) and when I showed my girls they were pleased. They have to take water bottles to school and these will be perfect for what they need them for. So un-meh, but I am glad I bought them.
Figured I'd tell my story today. Ran out of bottled water and decided to (i.e. was forced to) bring one of these to work. So far 2 people have noticed it. Both thought I was willingly drinking dishwashing liquid. As a result, I now definitely plan to continue using this at work and refilling rather than bringing bottled water.
To explain: the water at my house is not recommended for ingestion, hence the need to buy bottled. My job, however, has very drinkable water. I would frequently bring bottles and then just refill, so I don't know why it took me this long to buy a dedicated reusable container.

I even used the contact us page and got the (canned) “your message has been received and has been routed to the correct department blab la.” I do think this is a super idea and would love it if it were to be a full 1L! I go weekend boating and have to carry drinking water with me for coffee, cool aid, and washing. The empty bottles are difficult to deal with as the development of this bottle states. Bought one (er... two) primarily for use on flights. You're allowed to take empty bottles with you through security and then fill up in the airport. This will be a space-saving way to do so and save $$ on water.
@billchase2 You could just drink out of the water fountain you are going to fill it up at. Then get yourself a nice complimentary beverage on your flight. Viola!

I scored a dozen of these a few years ago- they're ok for water- but they are awesome for smuggling in tequila (or scotch/vodka/whiskey/etc.) into concerts or sports events, or any venue where a cocktail is needed, but carrying a flask is not ... appropriate.

Please stop! I've known you for a little over 3 months and I can't stop buying your stuff. It started with a disadvantaged-pessimistic-centipede for whom I felt sorry. Maybe it's my jumping-masterful-religion that's keeping me going but the wounded-subsequent-language of that facetious-beautiful-gorilla is starting to make me doubt myself. Upon his urging, eating tight-alcoholic-ravioli on my knotty-rebellious-bed while reading a grandiose-adhesive-book, I made a minuscule-duly-discovery. The succinct-baled-vulture, a solid-miraculous-creature, was not actually feasting on an appetizing-novelty-alligator rather a wholesome-uplifted-earwig which was filled with unnerving-immortal-vinegar against which my juvenile-delicious-knife was of little use. So as you can see I need help, I can't keep this up. Now I have 4 collapsible bottles headed my way and my wife is telling me to "Stop buying this shit!".

@ongware Hahaha Yes, I know it sounds like a lot but… Just last weekend I carried home empty2- 2ltr, 1 gallon, and 2 32 oz containers. A royal pain in the behind. There are Three of us ( hubby, myself and dog) Friday through Monday that want to drink water based beverages, and cook with it too. And BONUS Through Amazon, I believe I can purchase all with Credit points so actually FREE!!!!! Oh, and while I am at it… What is a “Baller”? Smile Thanks again for finding them!
@silverqueen Oh man, that's a lot to carry. Have you considered camelbaks or things along those lines? Those are 2-3 liters a bag, and are designed to be in a backpack, so you would only need 3-4 of those. Then of course, the cost of 3-4 of those equates to 10 of these, sooo..

I got mine today (in South Carolina) and when I showed my girls they were pleased. They have to take water bottles to school and these will be perfect for what they need them for. So un-meh, but I am glad I bought them.

Got mine here in Florida, yesterday.
Figured I'd tell my story today. Ran out of bottled water and decided to (i.e. was forced to) bring one of these to work. So far 2 people have noticed it. Both thought I was willingly drinking dishwashing liquid. As a result, I now definitely plan to continue using this at work and refilling rather than bringing bottled water.
To explain: the water at my house is not recommended for ingestion, hence the need to buy bottled. My job, however, has very drinkable water. I would frequently bring bottles and then just refill, so I don't know why it took me this long to buy a dedicated reusable container.
