I personally don’t own a TV inside or outside, but when I visit my friend who has a large TV in her outdoor tiki bar, I must admit that I do enjoy watching it there.
There are some very specific instances where it’s useful: emergency response and disaster relief mobile headquarters type situations, when you can’t get a proper trailer or bus anyway, or perhaps tailgating for a sporting event or something of that nature. Otherwise, nah. I’ve seen some desire for a patio
TV or whatever, but you can get by just as well with a tablet or computer or projector you pull out for the few times you actually use it instead of just enjoying the patio. If you want to go into nature and then watch TV, something has fundamentally broken.
One near me did close this year, though. They were purchased back in 2018, was supposed to be redeveloped starting in 2020, but got an extended stay through the pandemic.
(IIRC, the owners didn’t want to sell but was offered a huge premium by the developers. Something like the equivalent of a couple decades worth of profit.)
@PooltoyWolf Quibble: A phone can display streaming TV content coming from the Net, but it can’t directly receive digital TV broadcasts, ergo it is not a TV. It is a small tablet.
Where I live if you had a TV outside you wouldn’t have a TV very long at all so if you don’t feel like having your TV stolen giving away your TV to a stranger, you wouldn’t put one outside.
My SONY Wega has been an outside TV since 2005 as I couldn’t carry it inside.
Outside is to get away from canned entertainment. Don’t lose the joy of experiencing nature firsthand.
Outside TVs are blasphemous to everything that is good in this world.
I barely watch the TV inside the house; why would I want one outside?!?
I think I did this in 2000 so my Sims would have something to watch from their outside toilet.

I’d rather get indoctrinated inside.
I don’t even have a TV inside.

I only watch TV for the articles.
They were popular when I was a kid back in the '50s and '60s, but are harder to find now.

@rockblossom Some still exist, though.

@rockblossom There’s still one alongside I-45 just north of Ennis, TX. Galaxy Drive-In. I’ve seen quite few vehicles in there at times.
When we were kids in the 80’s my uncle would put the tv in the garage and we would watch mtv videos out there. That was livin for us as kids.
My answer to this question hinges almost entirely on whether you’re willing to properly install and care for said television.
Anyone who says they don’t own a single TV is a dirty rotten liar! (Hint: your phone technically counts as a TV.)

@werehatrack Depends on your definition of a TV and how hard you’re willing to work on it…and how many adapters you’ve got!
EDIT: For the sake of completeness, there have been cell phones with inbuilt TV tuners!
