Find a set where the larger pieces have drag-behind wheels instead of spinner casters, and I’ll get interested. Spinners suck on a lot of surfaces that drag-behind handles with ease, and spinner casters suck at being drag-behind wheels. Also, you can get more interior room with drag-behind for the same actual height of case.
I travel extensively, so I’ve purchased the last few sets Meh had available. The large suitcase is very large, so it’s easy to exceed the normal 50 lbs weight limit on most domestic USA airlines. I travel overseas mostly, where I usually have a 30 kg (70 lbs) limit, so the largest suitcase is great.
However, a note of caution: the zippers don’t hold up as well as those on higher-quality luggage sets. My Samsonite zipper has never popped once in the five years I’ve had it. With this set, the zipper started coming apart as soon as I applied a bit of pressure. (And by a bit, I mean I sometimes like to overstuff and take advantage of every single kilogram.)
The carry-on is my favorite. It’s spacious and glides smoothly, even when I’m carrying my equally overstuffed handbag on top of it.
It’s served us well so far, and at the price we paid, which is normally what we’d pay for one small to medium-sized suitcase, it’s been a great purchase.
I bought this last time and used it for my recent month trip to Europe and many parts of the large suitcase fell apart. The wheels broke, top handle broke and the zippers got pretty messed up. If you plan on filling it up to weight limit, don’t buy this because it won’t last you. Save up and buy quality.
@bgammill Damn, harsh reality. Wasn’t the guy on the mega-yacht in Italy was it? So strange a waterspout (tornado over water) apparently. But yeah it seems to happen to all the old Billionaires, and the rest of us too. Shit.
@bgammill@pmarin Did you see his former compadre died a few days before he did? Kind of uncanny …
Stephen Chamberlain, once Mike Lynch’s co-defendant in the U.S. fraud trial over the sale of Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard, has died after a road accident, his lawyer said on Monday, days before Lynch went missing off the coast of Sicily.
Bought a set last time around and the mid sized one already lost a wheel to the luggage tossers. Haven’t checked yet to see if you can buy a fitting replacement on Amazon but it’s definitely something to think about. Otherwise they’re pretty nice, light, and roll very well.
Well, my seven+ year Meh button streak is over, much like my top tier travel loyalty streak. I can always look back at how much money I wasted on Meh over the years, much like the time wasted in a cramped seat in all those international flights.

If only it was 4 pieces.
@yakkoTDI you can always break one in half.
@haydesigner You grossly overestimate my strength.
Did you guys steal Stanley Tucci’s luggage?

I don’t need these because I’m not going anywhere .

meh…
I travel carry-on only…
@mocanlagunas same, makes travel so much easier.

I am calling error on the outer dimensions on the Sostegno above.
Small: 21" H x 14" W x 9" D
and yet the inner W & D are also 14" x 9".
that’s . . . impossible.
Quote from an Old Billionaire…“If I can’t take it with me, then by god i ain’t a goin’” But he went…

@bgammill @Kyeh That’s just weird. Conspiracy theories will abound. Like, what really happened on the last episode of White Lotus season 2?
@bgammill @pmarin Well, I haven’t watched it, so I don’t know …
This would be a good deal for polycarbonate luggages, but is not a good deal for ABS luggages.

@hchavers Your button streak is forgivable and we’ve all (most of us) have been there man. I feel ya. Travel loyalty is another story, though.
Senpai noticed me!
Would’ve been better if I’d looked at today’s deal last night, like I usually do…
@xobzoo That is pretty cool. Do they send you a free bonus set for being mentioned? Or at least a random unexpected IRK?
@pmarin Not that I know of, but there’s a first time for everything, right?
I have these. The wheels are not the best, but it’s an ok set for occasional light travel. Don’t expect it to last though.
