Well he did win an Ig Nobel prize. Do you wanna tell him, or should I?
Citation: “Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil, Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom, Narendra Modi of India, Andrés Manuel López Obrador of Mexico, Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus, Donald Trump of the USA, Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, Vladimir Putin of Russia, and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow of Turkmenistan, for using the COVID-19 viral pandemic to teach the world that politicians can have a more immediate effect on life and death than scientists and doctors can.”
@Felton10, just as a thought exercise, how would your brilliant hero Biden have handled it?
Would he or would he not have stopped travel? It’s not clear from his statements whether that was Xenophobic or whether he would have doubled down on all the travel bans - starting in 2017, just in case. Would he have followed the Cuomo tactic of putting all of the infected in nursing homes nation wide in order to quickly kill off as many people as possible just to get it over with? Would he have shut everything down everywhere indefinitely, despite growing evidence that none of the shutdowns really mattered a damn?
Trump gets a solid B+. He loses points for trying to follow Fauci’s vacillating and self-serving “lead” for too long. He also loses points for trying to be open and transparent, because everything he said was used (and often twisted) by your media as points of attack.
@onlyonetruth yes, with his wonderful leadership the US has almost 4 times the number of cases and 2.5 times the deaths than Europe, which has twice our population (not to mention greater population density). But Faux News says the deaths are over reported and due to other conditions, not COVID. Well, if you have high blood pressure and then die from sepsis, I guess that means the high blood pressure killed you and not the bacteria in the blood. Regarding the “closing” of borders, it was the correct step but it’s also widely reported that most advisers were saying that was the correct thing to do, not just the all-knowing Trump. For the dig at Fauci, it’s called science and adapting when we learn new things about a disease and how it’s transmitted. Sometimes you have to change recommendations when you have new information. Even though our president believes he has never made any mistakes and knows everything about everything, scientists and most open-minded people actually acknowledge when previous beliefs were incorrect if provided data that shows otherwise. Not once have I heard this President admit he made a mistake, he would rather cover them up with 10,000 lies. How anyone can believe one word coming out of his mouth is beyond me.
He wouldn’t be repeatedly blocking and stalling any sort of further economic stimulus bill for citizens because he and his cronies are too busy shoving judges through and trying to kill the post office
He wouldn’t be wasting time letting the MyPillow guy push his stupid ideas out of desperation to have a miracle cure found under his watch before reelection time
And that’s just the start, really. Biden is far from perfect, and it’s entirely possible that we might not have been that much better off if he’d been in charge instead. But I can safely say we wouldn’t be worse. Not that I expect any of this to matter to you, given that the only people still supporting him are the people who are more than willing to just call it all “fake news” and run back to hide behind the incompetent sociopaths in the white house who will happily let them all die to save a few dollars and fulfill their childish vendettas.
He gets a big fat F and if there were a lower grade I would give it to him.
For Trump is was all about deflecting and lying about how sever this was to increase his election chances-no concern at all about the thousands of people dying due to his misinformation and inaction.
—Calling it a democratic hoax when he knew the real truth how bad it could become
—Saying it would magically disappear (still says this)
—Almost never wearing a face mask
—Making fun of Biden & others wearing a mask.
—I could go on and on about things he has said and done to minimize it’s severity.
