Long form article from the daughter of one of the few men who bought the lifetime ticket on American Airlines.
I have mixed feelings about the article. He was clearly booking flights he wasn’t taking. Depression or not, that was a violation of their policy.
I suppose part of me feels no pity for a guy that could afford that sort of luxury, and then benefited from it for nearly 20 years. I know that’s not the sentiment I should take from the article, but I did.
@capguncowboy She talks about those mixed feeling in the article. I don’t know if there’s any “right” way to feel about it.
@capguncowboy @therealjrn I feel sorry for him. The Airlines messed up and it’s not like there were a lot of people with these passes. Unless he was booking on full flights it didn’t make a difference to them. They at least should have given him a warning.
