@Spalding1250 I've got a lot of Eneloops as well... but I also like having hoards of cheap batteries around to shove into my kid's toys that I know the batts will stay in for a few months. I feel like I keep "loosing" my Eneloops to toys which makes me lose my mind and sense of frugality.
OK, so it's speaker dock Friday, HP Pavilion Sunday and Battery Pack Monday? I think Roombas are Tuesday. Not sure what day is for the insulated drink travel thingies. Is there a pattern here?
@TheAlmighty1 I did also, except I had to buy that totally sweet alarm clock that runs on water that they were advertising from newegg. It's like to coolest frickin thing ever, even if they only had hot pink left.
@Kidsandliz I have no idea, but it sounded much too awesome to pass up. here's the link if you're interested, but they are all sold out http://www.neweggflash.com/Product/N82E16896423004. theres a y that i can't delete for some reason oh god what is happening...y
@Kidsandliz There are electrodes contacting the water that are probably zinc and copper or magnesium. The salt or chlorine in the water helps the ions move from one to the other, creating current. I'm fairly certain that you couldn't use distilled water, but I may be wrong. Anywho, the water isn't so much supplying the power as it is acting as the electrolyte for the big built in battery. Water works because it's so ridiculously low power. Eventually it will eat up the electrode and stop working, though that will probably take a while.
Hmm, a couple of weeks ago we lost power for about 11 hours and I was really pissed off that I couldn't find any AA batteries. This should take care of that!
@KDemo Last time mine arrived in a paper box that opened from the top and the batteries were standing up. You can easily give them as they arrive, or tape the box a bit to give it more strength.
@KDemo They come in a small Brown box, when you open it, you will find a smaller Toshiba blue and white box with an air pillow and a bunch of batteries all rolling around the inside of the brown box
@KDemo I'm going to go out on a limb and say they'll come in the pictured box, enclosed in a lovely little brown box with a label from meh. It's hit or miss whether your delivery guy gives it a good enough shake to open up the inner box...
I would also hope that if you are already ordering and have an extra $5, consider giving a pack to any toy drive. With the holidays around the corner they will appreciate have extra 40 packs around!
I may be mis-remembering, but I think the typical shelf life on an alkaline is usually marked 7 years.. at which point they are often at half their original capacity. So, these batteries are, I'd guess, at about 70%-ish of their original capacity. OTOH these were probably not originally retail batteries, so they probably just come brand new with a lower shelf life and a lower capacity than your Duracell, Energizer, etc.
Either way, I have pretty much eliminated everything but 9V batteries and rechargeables (cells, tablets, usb thingees) from my life. I think our TV remote uses AAA, but it's been years since we've replaced the batts in that.
@eblade If you have kids (as I presume most people interested in 40 dub-A's do), half lives are irrelevant. 'Dem kids are over their fave toy in 72 hrs flat. Just gotta remember to put the batteries in something else before the green foam starts slippin outta the rotten batts.
I see what you did there. You gave us a list of daily deal sites for all of us to submit this deal to so we could help you get rid of this stuff. Why didn't you just ask?
Great price wrong product. I need AAA for the (4) JBL docs I bought! Smile I already have 80 AA batteries from the last time, but it will take for ever to use since they don’t fit in my speeker docs.
48-pack for $12.99 + $5 shipping over at that other deal-a-day site, so this is a pretty good deal, especially if you have VMP. I think I bought these last time here though, so not quite ready to re-up yet.
So I'm guessing the end of the meeting for this one was along the lines of "Sure, we can use the batteries as a loss leader as long as we improve our SEO with deal freaks."
Can batteries even be recycled? All I ever heard about is paper and plastic. Am I a bad person for throwing them in the garbage? Help me, Captain Planet.
You can't recycle them, but you should be careful not to throw too many of them away at once. "Used batteries are often not completely dead. Grouping used batteries together can bring these live batteries into contact with one another, creating safety risks." (duracell.com)
@grammarsheriff also if you get too many used batteries in one place they combine to form Batzilla! Nobody wants to be responsible for bringing that terror upon the world!
I'm excited to add toxic things to our landfills at such an economical price! Thank you Meh, and Thank you, wii u and our aftermarket wireless sensor bar thing that always needs batteries. Life would be so ordinary if we had to use a plug to power it.
@bradraburn Even as a child I thought the Game Boy was a better purchase than the Game Gear after seeing how many batteries my cousins burned through, having to keep stopping the games or just plug into a power outlet.
Now excuse me while I go find an outlet to charge my phone.
Alright. But, I'm just wondering, who needs 40 AA batteries, seriously? Do you actually have 20 wireless mouses or something? Please, Meh, you're becoming really mehish. Please sell something worth paying for.
@Opemiyaku Let's see I think all the game console controllers take AA so that's 6 controllers, 3 TV removes, 1 XBox remote, 1 battery operated candle, Swiffer Wet Jet, aforementioned sex toy, 2 wireless mice, 1 wireless keyboard, personal groomer...and that's just off the top of my head!
@Opemiyaku There may even be people who don't use them all at once, but assume that there's a convenience factor in being able to replace dead AA batteries without leaving the house.
I'm living in Illinois and I can't believe there's someone who actually paid for those batteries in Illinois. We have an infinite number of corns, out of which you can generate infinite electricity. Then why do you need batteries? Even 40 of them? Sick!
Has anybody else had issues with these things leaking? I've been using them in a toothbrush UV sanitizer and the last couple of times I have had to change the batteries out, I find the batteries have leaked. The last time I had to wipe out the acid from inside the sanitizer. I haven't had any problems when using them in anything else.
Dammit, Meh, I need you to sell D cells, and I need them already delivered, because we are going to have a hurr...hurri...GAKKK (hairball, now I feel better) hurricane next week and it's because @mfladd is the goat right now.
@sammydog01 Not needed at this time, but thanks. I'm in a cat 5 + zone, on a ridge, with a roof that's rated to 120 mph . I have Prime, so my multipack will be here today. Just wanted to put the blame where it was needed.

@mediocrebot
not sure if that Amazon listing is the same product, it only shows the exterior packaging which is different than the ones for sale here.
@belowi not sure if that Amazon listing matches the Amazon photo. The photo has 60 batteries....
@mediocrebot Ain't nobody gonna beat $5 for 40. Nobody.
@mediocrebot http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/111371825484?lpid=82 4 batteries for $3.33
...aaaaaaaand we're back to the batteries
@khunjeff Don't scoff. Yesterday they only sold $3,000 in computers. Today they'd sold over $6,000 in batteries in 7 hours.
@ardgedee believe me, I'm not a scoffer... at least batteries are better than speaker docks (for me, not for meh)
These again. meh...
Awesome! But still meh, even though I'm still buying one... or 20.
meh^3
SO MANY BAHT ER EEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEE
I bought it...could not resist...great deal
@alpine Same... in for two, even though I still have batteries from the last woot.. er I mean "meh."
What did I pay last time?
@jd Same $5
Double Meh Batteries
dang it, i haven't used all of the last pack of AA batteries i bought. should have bought more speaker docks. =\
curved-deep-whip
What a coincidence! That's what I'm putting these batteries in.
Almost missed checking in on Sunday... what a meh way to start my Monday
OK, tempted to click meh on this one.
But I still bought it to justify my VIP.
And I'll probably use them all (or my kids will).
And I'll probably be glad I bought them at some point.
Meh.... did I just buy more batteries?!?
Fine, take my money. Stupid MVP
This was a tough one but I have Eneloops so unless you can sell me some of those then meh
Cool! Wife said we need to stock up on a few extra AAs. I'm pretty sure 40 should keep us set for a while.
You said "근데 뭐.. 이런 싸구려 배터리는 별로 안좋아하시잖아요. 그러니까.. 오늘 와주셔서 감사합니다. 내일 다시 만나요!". Yeah, right. I hate them. See you tomorrow!! :)
OK, so it's speaker dock Friday, HP Pavilion Sunday and Battery Pack Monday? I think Roombas are Tuesday. Not sure what day is for the insulated drink travel thingies. Is there a pattern here?
@heartny Two for Tuesday Roombas? Madness!
@cj0e holidays for HP (that would be a life time of holidays based on yesterday's sales)?
Baby. arm.
@KDemo It's a tradition now.
What the hell happened to that golf ball?
@somf69 It is one of those hollow plastic ones. There is always a chance that dent can be popped out.
Just visited all of those sites in the write-up. They were all just kinda meh.
@TheAlmighty1 I peruse the hot deals forum on slickdeals.net. I've scored some really good deals in the past.
@TheAlmighty1 I did also, except I had to buy that totally sweet alarm clock that runs on water that they were advertising from newegg. It's like to coolest frickin thing ever, even if they only had hot pink left.
@coeur how the heck does water power it?
@Kidsandliz I have no idea, but it sounded much too awesome to pass up. here's the link if you're interested, but they are all sold out http://www.neweggflash.com/Product/N82E16896423004. theres a y that i can't delete for some reason oh god what is happening...y

@jeffca51 Thanks. I figured it was something along that line but too lazy to google.
So... no mention of deals.woot?
@a the possibility of finding a "deal" there is just too small to make it worth the time to look most days!
Meh, bought some
skilled-jellied-medic
OK then. :/
@SavvySapphire, Isn't that considered an aspic?
@SavvySapphire seems a bit oxymoronic, if the medic was so skilled how did they get turned to jelly?
@JonT /me glances at @studerc
Dear god I hope these come in Georgia Red.
@Ignorant You are not alone.
@jrwofuga lol
Hmm, a couple of weeks ago we lost power for about 11 hours and I was really pissed off that I couldn't find any AA batteries. This should take care of that!
OK already, I take one.
CHRISTmas is coming... one each for the Grandkids (6) how can you go wrong?
@Veloslave I hate it when my capslock gets RANDomely stuck.
@Veloslave I think you mean SATURNalia.
@Thumperchick Definitely was not RANDOM
Sometimes someone must need Battery also. C u tomorrow
360 AA batteries, coming right up!
I got these last time and some of them were corroded. Think I'll skip it this time.
@fuzzyninja They were just fuzzy in your honor.
sigh I bought them again, dammit.
Can I ask how these are packaged? I want to get them for Toys for Tots as someone mentioned last time, but I'd like the package to arrive intact.
@Stallion @somf69 - Thumbs up, thumbs down. Where's 'Totally not rigged games of chance' when I need it?
@KDemo I'm going to go out on a limb and say they'll come in the pictured box, enclosed in a lovely little brown box with a label from meh. It's hit or miss whether your delivery guy gives it a good enough shake to open up the inner box...
@Cinoclav -Thanks. I'm going for it. For the children.
@KDemo The Toshiba box is awful.
I would also hope that if you are already ordering and have an extra $5, consider giving a pack to any toy drive. With the holidays around the corner they will appreciate have extra 40 packs around!
@v You motivated me to buy a spare to give away around Xmas time to a charity in need.
@Stallion Awesome! thanks for saying so too (I was homping it didn't sound too sanctimonious).
@v Good call.
@v Nice.. made me order 3
@v - Homp all you want, but leave the toys alone. ;-)
For anyone wondering, the max limit is 9 packages. Wow, 360 batteries is a hell of a lot to use before 1/2017
@Stallion unless you have a theater or meeting venue that blows through batteries for wireless mics like a whore on crack
@Stallion If you have room stick them in the fridge; if not then another cool area. They'll last longer.
I may be mis-remembering, but I think the typical shelf life on an alkaline is usually marked 7 years.. at which point they are often at half their original capacity. @kristi0501 true dat, i suppose. The kids are all teens or older now, so their gadgets are all rechargeable.
Meh.. I gots VMP.
juicy-glaring-willow
Meh, move along nothing to see here.
I've only used six of the last 40 I bought. It's a great deal but I'm not ready for more yet.
With a family of 6 we burn through AA batteries like mad for various devices, in for 3!
Slickdeals?? We don' need no steeeenking Slickdeals!
@chin
@MasterST I don't know what that is but it looks twisted, weird, disgusting
@Kidsandliz that's the point.
@nathanK I know… just commenting since it is especially "off" :)
@Kidsandliz it is indeed
@Kidsandliz I don't know who you are, but you look t,w,d.
@Opemiyaku t,w,d??? What does that mean? Google was not helpful in this case.
@Kidsandliz from your comment a few above: twisted, weird, disgusting.
@Ignorant being as this is a meh forum isn't this what we are supposed to strive for?
I don't know why I bought these things, hell I'll only use the crap out of'em then become disappointed that I have no more.. Whadda drag.
Meh, my order number is both sultry AND super?!?! You must have noticed my new jammies - glad you like them. Where is the camera hidden, though?
@Pamtha
@JonT I was on a work conference call when this came in. Not sure if I muted in time before I snorted.
I see what you did there. You gave us a list of daily deal sites for all of us to submit this deal to so we could help you get rid of this stuff. Why didn't you just ask?
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
I just bought 2! Was going to buy 1 but the shipping was the same for 2, so I saved money buying 2. Now I gotta go buy more toys to put them in.
@rodisms But you didn't sign up for VMP, so you'll spend that $5 on shipping for the next thing you order!
@editorkid MVP? I gots me some batteries, what else you plannin' on selling that I need?
@rodisms tl;dr is $5 ships either one single order or everything you buy for 30 days. Curl up with https://mediocre.com/forum/topics/vmp
Great price wrong product. I need AAA for the (4) JBL docs I bought! Smile I already have 80 AA batteries from the last time, but it will take for ever to use since they don’t fit in my speeker docs.
@silverqueen True! Bring on some AAA and 9V deals, heck I'd even be interested in some C's and D's
got sad last time i missed this deal. so this time i ordered 2 and got a vmp membership
48-pack for $12.99 + $5 shipping over at that other deal-a-day site, so this is a pretty good deal, especially if you have VMP. I think I bought these last time here though, so not quite ready to re-up yet.
I'll ask what we're all thinking:
When is meh finally going to offer a 40-pack of speaker docks?
I havn't even used the last ones! Now that I remember, I havn't even opened the Rayovac ones!!!!!!!
So I'm guessing the end of the meeting for this one was along the lines of "Sure, we can use the batteries as a loss leader as long as we improve our SEO with deal freaks."
Told myself I'd buy if they weren't sold out in the morning. And you know you can't go back on bargains you make with yourself at midnight.
And I popped my meh cherry with some batts.
@redjeep0 Sounds like you should have bought D cells.
Would these work well in a wireless Xbox 360 controller or are these kinds of batteries better for low usage devices like Tv remotes?
@JT954 I rock AA batteries in my 360 controller's. That a big reason I went in for 3, my controller seems to burn through them at an astounding rate.
Video games, video games, video games.
I bought these last time and I have to admit, they are REALLY crappy.
Alkaline batteries are indeed rechargeable! We've been recharging them for a while. They can't be recharged as many times as the rechargeables, but they work well. We bought this, and it works quite well: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008467K1E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
@MisterRon Never knew this. The top review says that many of them leak after charging though, not worth the risk.
Oh, sure, finally bring the batteries back when my VMP has run out.
@jqubed If it makes you fell any better, they aren't even worth the lousy 5 bucks. So you've just saved $5.
Lies....ALL LIES.....Don't believe in Meh. They are aliens trying to infiltrate our homes and destroy us with mediocre stuff!!!!! AAAHHHHH!!!
Anyone notice Meh got added to wootstalker.com? Meh, Meh!
@grammarsheriff where where?
@patti Bottom right on the grid. Next to sellout.
My vibrator loves this deal!
@foreverpurple Mine hate's it, I'll be through these in a week.
@foreverpurple Your username makes me inclined to believe you.
@foreverpurple Ah didn't think of that! Good gift for mom.
@foreverpurple - You must not have the unauthorized Binford model if it uses AAs.
@foreverpurple But would this deal also love your vibrator?
@Opemiyaku match made in heaven!
Just like the bacon days
Caution: the box sucks. Make sure to throw them in something else as soon as you get them, else you will fall prey to the cardboard overlord.
North Dakota is still holding out. Don't they use batteries up there?
@khunjeff They use nuclear.
@Opemiyaku north dakota finally caved! the nation is united once more!
I'm in. Now to dust off the Sega Game Gear. $5 for like 10 hours of play...haven't played it that much since 1992 and my parents bought my batteries.
@bradraburn could only ever play my Game Gear while sitting next to the power outlet. Still loved that thing.
@bradraburn Even as a child I thought the Game Boy was a better purchase than the Game Gear after seeing how many batteries my cousins burned through, having to keep stopping the games or just plug into a power outlet.
Now excuse me while I go find an outlet to charge my phone.
@jqubed but it has COLOR!
These will be perfect in my Sega Nomad.
Where did you guys find so many of these damn things?!
@Fej They have a pretty large old garage.
So now I have to purchase devises that use them.
@Felyne A good point you made.
Sick!
@Opemiyaku I did it for the lulz...and also because there's no corn near me.
Batteries are like tic tacs in this house. I bought two packs.
@Knightp It doesn't look like anyone else is seeing leakage. Are you using them in anything else?
Dammit, Meh, I need you to sell D cells, and I need them already delivered, because we are going to have a hurr...hurri...GAKKK (hairball, now I feel better) hurricane next week and it's because @mfladd is the goat right now.
@OldCatLady Oh no- can you leave?
@sammydog01 Not needed at this time, but thanks. I'm in a cat 5 + zone, on a ridge, with a roof that's rated to 120 mph . I have Prime, so my multipack will be here today. Just wanted to put the blame where it was needed.
@OldCatLady Good to hear it- old cats hate to get wet.
