@Fej Some devices (such as the Kindle Fire) are Mini USB, not Micro, so neither of these would work with that. Most phone-sized devices are likely Micro, though.
@kylewood I have three lightening cables. One is all right, one is wrapped in black tape and works only if I set my phone just so, and one is missing about a quarter inch of the cable cover, so the wires are exposed, and this one actually seems to work the best. After checking out the website I'm excited to try and glad I didn't spring for the Amazon version.
@WUZUP1998 I can tell you simply from the testing and prepping for this event that this thing grew on me. It's a good charging solution, doesn't take up space. good to just have in a bag "just in case."
At least for the USB Micro one, your phone may have to be upside down while charging (Nexus 4), but I feel like this is a great emergency charge item so it doesn't really matter.
@TaRDy I got the tracking numbers for my $1 tee shirt and for the package of 3 USB thingies. Two separate packages, shipped within a few hours of each other.
Ok. Had to get one of each....but, out of curiosity, since I forgot what kind of charger the original nook needs...but is it a micro USB? Cause if so, I should have ordered another of those. As for the order #, totally love it! super-definite-ass
@SavvySapphire Careful! I had an updated version of the Nook and it looks like micro-USB but it's actually proprietary, I think they just extended it a tad past what the spec allows. If that's a carry-over from the original Nook then this may not work, depending on exactly what B&N modified about the connector.
They seem awkward, right? Who wants to have a hard plastic connector between the charger and the device? Well, go grab a couple of These and you've got the world's cheapest lightning cables. Assuming these aren't complete junk...
As a tech this will be super useful, though I've been trying to make sure to always leave a micro usb in my bag now.
Nothing like being out way overtime on a job trying to fix shit while constantly on your cell and it starts to die on you from being on calls and your laptop is right there with no way to plug in the phone.
We have too many devices to count, and extra cables are always a plus. "Cables" I can carry on my keyring just in case I need a charge? Brilliant. Only $3 because of VMP, also brilliant.
@DJP519 Yeah I actually e-mailed customer service right after posting this and forgot to respond to this thread. They confirmed that it isn't certified but it is tested for compatibility.
@username TOCCs didn't give these to Meh, they sold them. Perhaps there is a new model in the pipeline. Perhaps TOCCs made too many to sell at $20 each. Perhaps TOCCs' had a cash flow crisis. It isn't a loss leader for Meh, because they limit those deals to one per customer.
@username If retail doesn't sell them, then Meh, Odd Lots, and other stores will pay cents on the dollar for the excess inventory. And if a couple suckers still buy 1% of the stock at retail prices, they might still break even.
Judging by the images, would this really work with an ipad mini/air? it seems that with the angle and length, you may not be able to plug the ipad into it because the corner would bump your laptop. Did you guys test those and if so, is there enough clearance?
Alright MEH wtf did you make me just waste $5 bucks for on this? Ordered one of each, that darn VMP membership is going to cost me a lot in the end when I'm ordering crap I don't need just because it's free shipping.
On the flip side, I love you and I finally know who you really are. Woot's younger, prettier, sister....I think I'm in love.......
Made my first meh purchase! I've been thinking about getting one of these for a while so this was the perfect opportunity. Grabbed two (lightning) and signed up for VMP!
@Ignorant We're going to upgrade next month. Maybe we'll snag something that can use it. Or my daughter will who does have iPhone can have it in her box of Xmas crap.
meh. I missed the mircousb, but if it is shipped smartpost I will most likely be able to wear a backpack before I get it anyway. (I have all types of spare cables in my L2 cache, but my spine imploded a couple of months ago so I can't wear it.) I ordered a lightning though because my sister uses shitty iPhones and, despite carrying a purse, doesn't carry anything useful in it. (She doesn't even carry a flashlight or wear cargo pants, freak)
I just got these. Please bring these back meh, I like them. I ordered a couple lightning cable ones. They're great. It's an initial impression but so far, so good.
I got mine today. The lighting version, although it definitely is not "MFI" certified, is charging my iPad mini right now with no issues. Handy (and cheap) little gizmo here. I'd probably buy more if you offered them again...
I bought 3 of them, and I'm extremely happy. I have no complaints about them at all. In fact, I'm so pleased that I'm seriously considering finding out what it is they do.
I love these things. They are on both my and my wife's keyring. Haven't charged a phone with them yet.. edit: I just realized how ridiculous my desk looks. I have a 4' 2007 Kindle usb charger cord coming out of my laptop to my phone winding around my whole desk, over the keyboard, between phone and mouse and monitor.... which sits next to my keys which have the TOCC attached.
Received mine a couple of weeks ago. They were working fine, then one started giving the dreaded "This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iPhone." message. Then, a couple of days later, it stopped charging the phone. Oh, well, they were cheap.
This company is a scam. They send you products that dont work and when trying to return for refund or exchange they wont answer to call, emails or their live chat. I got 2 iphone5s cables and everytime i connect it says its not compatible with they product. BE CAREFUL!
@aaaaaaaa Is this a scam company? I fell for that again? Damnit, what are all of these people doing here working really hard for long hours? If you're talking (toccing) about Tocc and not Mediocre, they seem fairly legitimate to me. If you're having trouble getting a hold of them, give us a shout at https://meh.com/support or send an email to help@meh.com
@pamsplace00 Sure, the end with the microUSB port (not the big end) goes into the /right/ side of the charging port, as shown in this photo! I'm an S5 owner and it plugs right up. Now, what in the world am I supposed to plug the other end into?

Baby arm.
@Ignorant That certainly is a nice package... Of keys.
Just so I'm clear, the 'lightning' choice is iPhone and Micro is Android, yes?
@PurplePawprints Yes
@Deftoned989 Just wanted to make sure. Lightning sounds faster, but it won't work for me then. :-) Micro it is!
@PurplePawprints Lightning is iPhone, micro USB is literally everything else (Android, Windows Phone, Kindle, dumbphones, etc.)
@Fej Don't forget BlackBerry
@jqubed He did say "dumbphones". Insert rimshot
@juaquin
@Fej Some devices (such as the Kindle Fire) are Mini USB, not Micro, so neither of these would work with that. Most phone-sized devices are likely Micro, though.
I'm not even entirely sure what I just bought. But each phone in our house shall have one. Because VMP and I like finding packages in my mailbox.
@therealmrsbeny I have been using it with my Android. I like how snug it fits. Seems to charge faster than my usb cord.
Accidental-fabled-eel. I LOVE the order phrases.
@DaveInSoCal resounding-omnipotent-parent. Every kid's worst nightmare!
How'd you get a picture of my keys?
Damn you Meh. Another purchase made. At least I didn't have to stay up till midnight.
@aaronhurt
Oh yay! This is a perfect back up cable for my purse! Yay!
@patti is your purse micro USB?
@Ignorant Lightning.
@patti wow fancy apple wearables, nice.
I would usually buy just about anything at this price with VMP, but I honestly can't imagine any situation in which this item would be useful to me.
@khunjeff I bought six (between mine and my husband's account) and plan to throw them in gift bags when I need to add something extra.
@PurplePawprints "Here, you throw this out."
@jmusal Something like that.
now I get it, the baby's arm was connected to the keys while driving the car the other day....
@somf69 Yes.
Anyone have any experience with these? I've never heard of it.
@WUZUP1998 At this price, it doesn't really matter if they're junk (assuming they don't burn up our phones).
@WUZUP1998 ?Fits snug and charges well.
@WUZUP1998 I can tell you simply from the testing and prepping for this event that this thing grew on me. It's a good charging solution, doesn't take up space. good to just have in a bag "just in case."
@ChadP Paying for the VMP deal - I took the plunge and went in for 3. Thanks for the reply!
I ordered two. Will be nice to have one at work.
I think I'll hold out and wait to get this in a swag bag or something.
For $1 each I had no choice but to be in for 3.
1) How many baby arms do you have?
2) Why did I buy 3 of these?
@Thumperchick 1) Baby arm 2) Baby arm
@JonT
@Kleineleh AH AH AH
This... might be useful.
At least for the USB Micro one, your phone may have to be upside down while charging (Nexus 4), but I feel like this is a great emergency charge item so it doesn't really matter.
@pengieh Nexus 5 has an upside-down micro USB port. Never thought I'd say that it's helpfun!
That is a Wallet Ninja, not a Keychain Ninja!
I bet they will offer a week or so of these knick-knack items ($1-$5) and then just ship them all at once to lessen the blow.
Anyways in for $1 and maybe another $4 if the GF wants one when I ask her in the morning.
or this is all just a week long blitz of cheap sub $10 items to get people really talking about meh and showing off all the crazy deals they offer.
@CowboyDann Their prepping for next week's speaker dock Friday... I just know it. Sneaky little bastards they are.
Doubled down, got the lightning one too.
@SavvySapphire Nook 1 was Micro-USB or so says the research
@ChadP great! Thank you, I should know this, and obviously I don't! Guess I'm in for a third lol. Thankfully I'm a VMP... So that helps.
@SavvySapphire Careful! I had an updated version of the Nook and it looks like micro-USB but it's actually proprietary, I think they just extended it a tad past what the spec allows. If that's a carry-over from the original Nook then this may not work, depending on exactly what B&N modified about the connector.
@Ringold I think (and hope) it is Micro, I use my Sony camera charger to charge it since it didn't come with a charger.
They seem awkward, right? Who wants to have a hard plastic connector between the charger and the device? Well, go grab a couple of These and you've got the world's cheapest lightning cables. Assuming these aren't complete junk...
@Superllama7 not complete junk. especially at $1.
@Superllama7 I assume these are not Apple MFi certified though...you can get generic lightning cables on ebay for less than $4
@Odi true; they're not forthcoming with any indication of certification
For $1 why not.
@JazzyJosh because meh.
Damn it, I've been drinking and with the VMP this is practically free but I really don't need it. Help.
@peas luckily I haven't started drinking yet, otherwise I would be in exactly the same situation.
@peas Two of these and a penny, and you have a minnie hockey game with a friend.
@kylewood & @peas do it, it's the ideal drinking game and all of your friends are doing it, oh and they'll make fun of you if don't
As a tech this will be super useful, though I've been trying to make sure to always leave a micro usb in my bag now.
Nothing like being out way overtime on a job trying to fix shit while constantly on your cell and it starts to die on you from being on calls and your laptop is right there with no way to plug in the phone.
I bought one at full price a few months ago. Pretty much works fine. Just be careful of wiggly connections on the USB end.
We have too many devices to count, and extra cables are always a plus. "Cables" I can carry on my keyring just in case I need a charge? Brilliant. Only $3 because of VMP, also brilliant.
No 30 pin... meh...
Are the lighting cables MFi certified?
@Vinky doubt it at this price and it isn't mentioned nor has anyone confirmed. Figure it was worth a try at $4.
@Vinky for future reference, I can now confirm, they are NOT made for iPhone certified, but, it is working on my iPad right now, no problems.
@DJP519 Yeah I actually e-mailed customer service right after posting this and forgot to respond to this thread. They confirmed that it isn't certified but it is tested for compatibility.
i'm a sucker for $1 deals.
and this seems like a good deal, but if retail is $20 why are they being dumped at $1? whats in it for TOCCs?
@username Word of mouth.
@username It's like throwing money at strippers; I don't know what it goes to, but I like it!
Bless thee meh
@coleslaw9
Judging by the images, would this really work with an ipad mini/air? it seems that with the angle and length, you may not be able to plug the ipad into it because the corner would bump your laptop. Did you guys test those and if so, is there enough clearance?

On the flip side, I love you and I finally know who you really are. Woot's younger, prettier, sister....I think I'm in love.......
@Stallion
I will definitely throw money at WOOT's younger, prettier sister!
@GoatLord Don't be so obscure....just list the site you are referring to? :)
@mydrivec I would but...meh.
@GoatLord She's a cheap, if apathetic, date
I NEED more
@fuentes91j Sometimes all you need to do is ask...here you go.
@mydrivec ha ha ha
@fuentes91j Maybe selling refurbished cowbells is a good idea. I will check on that.
portly-humble-anteater. How can any VMP not pull the trigger on this?
I'm pretty sure this is the second most ridiculous gadget I've seen on the interwebs.
Micro-USB version already sold out. Bleh.
@ardgedee
Yep they are gone. Could have used a couple as well.
Micro-USB sold out... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Are we all rallying to buy one of these for some mehhead who can't afford one?
Surprised there wasn't a banana for scale.
@jsh139 Scale for banana*
Made my first meh purchase! I've been thinking about getting one of these for a while so this was the perfect opportunity. Grabbed two (lightning) and signed up for VMP!
@billchase2 Wow this item is definitely a meh way to pop your cherry, totally meh!!!jk
I want it. but, I don't want to pay shipping fee.
What should I do?
@josephkim Buy it and become a VMP at checkout, it cost $5 bht gives free shipping for a month from the day you bought it.
I bought 1. It cost me $4. I am a VMP.
Why was this $4?
@Teripie you bought the lightning version.
@marklog Thanks! I still have no idea what this but it's comforting to know it's the best.....I think.
@Teripie do you have an iphone 5?
@Ignorant No. Samsung Note.
@Teripie You may be disappointed, then. The Lightening cable is for newer iphones. The micro-USB is a more universal plug, but that one is sold out.
@Teripie You won't have much use for the Lightning version. See if you can cancel/change your order.
My cat assiduously gnaws through every cable in the house, so this should (might) foil her.
@skemmis Geez! I didn't even think of that. My cats have gone through a bunch of cables too. Yay...hopefully this will stop that...or not
Bring back more Micro USB's!!
Stay up late or get up earlier.
plz my help q&a check~
change the tracking adderss~
Will in ship to Singapore?
@alexlim Nope. Only ships to the USA mainland.
8 bucks, what the hell.
Having received mine and after having my hands on it I would definitely purchase many more of these if offered again :)
I bought 3 of them, and I'm extremely happy. I have no complaints about them at all. In fact, I'm so pleased that I'm seriously considering finding out what it is they do.
Okay, I totally just remembered that I ordered these and still don't have 'em lol..
I PROBABLY SHOULD LOOK INTO THAT.
@Chops PROBABLY meh.com/support
@JonT It looks like the problem was, I just didn't want it bad enough when I placed the order. The lesson here? Try harder next time.
@Chops

@Olperfesser I had the same thing happen to me. TOCCs customer support was no help.
Mine broke. I might lean towards generic cables instead of these. $4 for this lightning cable when you can get 3 generic cables for $4.
Micro USB version still working fine for Android phone!
Mine lasted all of an hour or two before breaking.
Piece of shit. :(
This company is a scam. They send you products that dont work and when trying to return for refund or exchange they wont answer to call, emails or their live chat. I got 2 iphone5s cables and everytime i connect it says its not compatible with they product. BE CAREFUL!

@JonT A lot of anger for a couple of cheapo, meh cables. A lot of anger...
Let's do these instead next time. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/incharge-the-smallest-keyring-cable/x/7959895
And, yes, I know that's not how it works. But I can dream, can't I?
@joelmw I love purple.
@joelmw It seems the flexible ones would be harder to snap. meh.
Image search result from order number:
can anyone post how to connect these? I have a samsung s 5 and I just got these, but have no earthly idea what to do with them.TIA...
@pamsplace00 Sure, the end with the microUSB port (not the big end) goes into the /right/ side of the charging port, as shown in this photo! I'm an S5 owner and it plugs right up. Now, what in the world am I supposed to plug the other end into?
@flynnski @pamsplace00
Well, now I've got one. What the hell do I do with it?
@flynnski see above!
@JonT Hmm. I guess I need to buy a laptop to go with my cable, then!
@flynnski Coming soon to a meh near you.
@flynnski Also works fine with backup batteries USB hubs and the like.
Why can't I get this plugged into my phone? I have a Samsung Proclaim but it's not going into the charging port. Help.....
Nevermind!! I ordered one for Android and one for the iPhone and Meh mixed them up.
Way to go, Meh!! My kids have been trying to drive me crazy for years and you managed to do it on my first purchase!
@Womeh give us a shout at https://meh.com/support
