Couple of pictures from our project…
And those little pointy things make it so hard to walk on!
@mehcuda67 Yes, but it’ll ensure they stay in their pristine condition!
@mehcuda67 @Ozzie2191 Just use your stilts, you’ll be fine. POIDH, though.
@mehcuda67 @OldCatLady @Ozzie2191
Those are actually a tile leveling system. They pop off and part of it is reusable…
@mehcuda67 Those pointy things are to protect your feet from stepping on legos, thumbtacks… That stuff isn’t as tall as the pointy things so walking only the pointy things means your feet are safe.
@Kidsandliz @mehcuda67 Those are temporary. Stilts protect you permanently, and they also save you from stealth hairballs. Meh should sell stilt multipacks!
@jst1ofknd So it looks like those things are more about keeping the tiles the same height as the others than they are in leveling the tiles to the actual floor.
@mehcuda67 I so so so wish I had used levelers similar to that when I did tile. The large tiles I did are not as level as should be and annoy me most often of my whole kitchen remodel.
Wow. That’s like a lego minefield! I’m about to have my kitchen redone and I told them hold off 'til after Christmas. Not gonna have that mess over the holidays.
That’s what I tried to tell my wife.
Looks nice! I hate laying tile also, but it looks so nice when finished. I also have never used that type of tile spacers.
ps… Is that a string of potato chips hanging from the ceiling?
That’s a board. That and the naily board on the ceiling (not to mention the wire from what was a switch) are the only remains of a wall.
@daveinwarsh @jst1ofknd looks like a fake flower lei.
Yes. There is one of those too. Previous occupants had weird hooks in the ceiling. That one collected lei as you see. I don’t even see it anymore.
I see what you are referring to thanks to @Riotdemon.
Looks good! I tiled most of my (finished) basement several years ago. It was a PITA, but it still looks great and I’ve never regretted doing it.
Thanks! I need all the encouragement I can get…
/giphy missed a spot
I missed lots of spots. Most of the house is going to get this treatment.
Just imagine how wonderful it’ll be when it’s done tho!!
@jst1ofknd Nice work. Sweet xmas tree.
That tree is a compromise. The wife wanted to go get a tree in the middle of us tiling and I didn’t want one that’s going to be in the way. She got a small one and we’re both equally happy.
