This or That, Day 10
7Well, well, well… I expected all sorts or write-in candidates to yesterday’s topic and we did get a few: Viking beard, muttonchops, neck-beard (ew), even an octopus with chin-straps.
But I thought a category of beards could not possibly attract a legitimate Wonder Woman entry. I mean, I know anyone could simply write her in, no matter how irrelevant to the topic. But to actually have a defensible Wonder Woman submission in a beard thread, I figured was impossible. I figured we’d be safe. I figured wrong.
So today I’m giving up trying to guess and we’re returning to actors and roles. The actor is Jeff Golblum
And the roles are:
Malcolm
or New Jersey
Has he done other things? Sure. Are there others that are better? Possibly. But these are the two I’ve decided to post. So I’m posting a little early tonight and going to bed.
And if someone posts a picture of him in a Wonder Woman outfit, I’m going to be very disappointed.

Jeff Goldblum was married to Geena Davis, who wants a role in Wonder Woman 2.

@mike808
@mike808 Is that the best you can come up with? Pics or you got nothin’.
@Mehrocco_Mole
@Mehrocco_Mole @mike808 Yeah, saw that picture. Was just a mashup based on a comment he made about DC/Marvel given he was in Ragnarok. But better try…
@Mehrocco_Mole @ybmuG
Because he was in an MCU movie, he won’t be seen in a DC movie or costume. Wouldn’t be surprised if there was a non-compete given they are representing Disney owned IP now, trademarked and patented and copyrighted out the wazoo nine ways to Sunday. Even if it was for a minor character that ended up on the cutting room floor.
Disney milks that crap until it’s dust, never giving or returning anything to the common good in exchange for the exclusivity they are granted.
@Mehrocco_Mole @mike808 @ybmuG Sticking strictly with current mainline DC movies and the MCU, it looks like Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje violates that rule. He’s in Suicide Squad and one of the Thor movies.
He’s not a top-bill name, though.
@mike808 Random odd-ball trivia re: Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis.
They met on the set of Transylvania 6-5000. While not a very good movie, I found it memorable because of the unusually tall cast of principle characters:
Ed Begley, Jr. 6’4"
Jeff Goldblum 6’4"
Michael Richards 6’3"
Geen Davis 6’0"
Usually when the screen is that dominated by tall people, there is a related reason in the story (e.g. mythological warriors or basketball players). This was a random happenstance of casting. It was actually a little jarring, especially in the scenes where Carol Kane 5’2" and/or John Byner 5’7" shared the screen with them. In a bit of irony, Begley’s character was actually the love interest to Davis’.
It was also visually memorable because of Davis’ wardrobe.
@DrWorm @mike808 not many could pull that costume off!

Or

Since I’ve seen those.
Ian Malcolm because:

Generally I don’t like Jeff Goldblum but if you had said Independence Day I may have voted. BTW: The first one, not the sequel.

@Mehrocco_Mole I didn’t know that was him. He did pretty good in that movie.
The dinosaur one.

Ian Malcolm
Chaos Theory & Dinosaurs & Snark, oh my!
Malcolm because I’ve seen Jurassic Park. Don’t know what the other one is.
@RiotDemon https://imdb.com/title/tt0086856/
@ybmuG that looks fun.
@RiotDemon definitely worth an evening.
Malcom, definitely!
I’ll vote for New Jersey, but I’ll post this image:
Ed Okin. Nerdy insomniac engineer has a wild adventure and ends up with Michelle Pfeiffer. I don’t know, something about it just spoke to me.
Hhuummmm. I WONDER if someone could photoshop Jeff’a face on Wonder Womans body? I would do it but I would not know where to start???

@aetris @tinamarie1974 that’s nothing if not a tribute to dedication.
@aetris that is amazing!!

@aetris @mike808 @ybmuG for what it is worth I had a horrible day and @aetris gave me a big smile and a good laugh. Thank you for being my bright spot today!
Sounds like the start to
/giphy six degrees of kevin bacon
@chienfou not what I expected, but I’ll keep it.
@chienfou Try this one.
And it is called “5 degrees of separation from Jeff Goldblum”, because he’s one degree closer than Kevin.
Definitive answer from Jeff himself:
Kevin Bacon was in Animal House, directed by John Landis, who also directed Into the Night, starring Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Pfeiffer (mentioned above).

Jeff Goldblum and Lynda Carter both got their stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2018.
1 degree of separation for the win.
@mike808 And I notice Minnie Mouse made it too!
Jeff Golblum is quite the fashion maven. Way to rock those pr0n star socks, Jeff.
