THIS IS UNPRECEDENTED, AN OUTRAGE!

Oh dear, (at least) one of the Fake News outlets is breathlessly reporting the Ds pretend outrage that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is going to ‘‘break precedent’’, and speak at the Republican convention.

So many times various Ds have ‘‘broken precedent’’ in recent times, and Fake News had nothing to say about it.

Former presidents Carter, Clinton, and Obama attacking current presidents, and speaking out on political issues of the day. Obama, and all his illegal executive orders - bypassing Congress in ignoring certain laws and in creating new ones. Obama and Kerry bypassing Senate ratification on the Iran treaty by calling it a ‘‘deal’’. Obama spying on the opposing party’s presidential campaign, transition, and presidency. Weaponizing the FBI, Dept of Justice, and national security agencies (I won’t include weaponizing the IRS and politicizing the courts, as previous Ds had already done that).

And plenty of other precedents broken by various Ds - whenever they see political advantage in doing so. Trashing the police. Allowing (encouraging) months of rioting unchallenged in their cities. Keeping folks on edge, panicked and fearful of Covid, in order to try to steal the election with a bunch of phony ballots, and ballot harvesting. One would think a Secretary of State exercising his freedom of speech is insignificant when compared to these other broken precedents.

Unless they’re worried he’ll bring up the failed Obama/Biden foreign policy, and Joe Biden’s horrible 40 year foreign policy voting record before that. Gosh, he’d better not bring up Obama/Biden’s record on Israel, the Middle East, ISIS, Russia, Ukraine, or China. He’s better not bring up Biden’s Senate votes on China, Central America, the Soviet Union, Iraq, Reagan’s nuclear weapons showdown with the Soviets, Cuba, North Korea…

He’d better not bring up Trump’s revised trade deals with Mexico & Canada (Nafta), China, the EU, increased military spending contributions by European NATO members, defeating ISIS, getting troops out of Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and even Germany, holding China accountable to international law in the South China Sea, the East China Sea, and the Arctic, further isolating Iran, North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela, Middle East peace deals and cooperation against Iran, etc, etc.

No, it wouldn’t be fair for Mike Pompeo to mention any of it.
