Dr appt ran long..there was an emergency before me..now I have to wait an hour and a half for a "stat" test. So I went to have french toast..thinking of you @carl699@jaremelz@barney.but it is not banana bread french toast :(
@carl669 sigh..was told my cholesterol sucks -- totally hereditary.. 1 in 10 chances of a heart attack in next 10 years without medication... Can we make it an egg white omelet? :)
@carl669 Seriously, dr said to save the yolks and make other things, i.e. custards, curds, things along that line. He really wouldn't understand the perplexed look I gave him at that statement. I need to find a short fat logical dr! :)
@jaremelz hehehe you laugh.. I brought baked goods in almost every week of this insane projecy. Recently, I haven't been feeling well, so no baking. You wouldn't believe the amount of complaining I have heard. So tomorrow, I am making cookies.. Bar cookies to save effort, but cookies all the same. While I love New England, no sunlight in the winter sucks!
@Teripie I would instantly become a lobster looking person -- you would never guess my last name begins and ends with a vowel !! :) In a heart beat, I would be there if it weren't for all my baggage (aka monsters, brats, children).
@mikibell I believe it's important to note that I just learned of two other people who had fatal heart attacks recently: One, a 37 year old crossfit enthusiast and triathlete. The other a 43 year old golfer.
Very rarely do you hear of people dying on their couch watching game of thrones, eating steak and drinking beer and/or whiskey, so that's what I'll be doing.
I have what my doc calls "familial hyperlipidemia" as well. My grandfather ate bacon and eggs every day, drank whiskey and wine at night, and lived to be 92. Lived alone in his own home right up until a few days before he got sick and died a few days later in the hospital. I finally started taking cholesterol meds after 9 years of listening to my doc harass me about it. I'm still not sure that we should blame eggs and other delicious foods for all of our cholesterol problems. Banana french toast sounds good right about now.
@melwin Oh, I so wholeheartedly agree with you. I don't eat half of the crap one needs to cut out of a diet, and I eat good for you vegetables, etc. and my cholesterol is high. I also wonder where does it start to become harmful to cut one type of food from a diet? So, onto new drugs I go, because I want to see my future grandkids grow up and give me great grandkids!
@Barney well..... You can have anything if you are the type to ask forgiveness rather than permission ;) At home I chuck most of the egg yolks to make french toast. Today, I chucked my morals and went for full fat french toast!
@mikibell NOOOO!!! save the egg yolks. make hollandaise. put it on salmon. the health of the fish negates the unhealth of the yolks, right? (although, i would actually argue that yolks are quite healthy)
@carl669 See that is the sucky part Carl -- I don't like rich saucy things (unless it is a hunky billionaire!) I took that school house rock skit about not drowning your food to heart!
feel free to have some eggs for me as well. i'm kind of craving an omelette right now.

@carl669 In the interest of looking out for our @mikibell , I'll be having the omelette. And french toast. And bacon.
@mikibell i'll take the yolks. i always wonder what they did with the yolks when someone orders an egg white omelette.
@jaremelz quit hogging all the good stuff dammit!

@mikibell Is he suggesting you make these yummy treats for others to enjoy while you watch? Because really, that's the way to end up murdering people.

@mikibell I have a small, but nice spare bedroom. I'm in NW Florida, 15 miles fro the Gulf. Want a sunburn?

And I'm thinking of you,@mikibell. At least you can still have French toast.

I want some French toast.
@retroblue I am sorry.. I enjoyed every last bite of the french toast. Although the coffee was better.
