Wait… who? It was time for someone to “take the helm” (always loved that naval term) of the 1701A though I thought it had been blown-up a couple of times.
@pmarin It’s last of the class, NCC-1975 USS Orca, commanded by Captain Quint on a deep space exploratory mission to locate the space whale that almost took out Earth and attempt to establish “mostly” peaceful relations… or else.
@aetris@ItalianScallion@macromeh
I thought it was iMorg, not Eymorg, but in either case this is why we have evolved to iPhone and iPad, the new AI overlords?
@macromeh Exactly right, he recognized Kirk as not being one of “the givers of pain and pleasure” but not as just some different male. The story is a riff on authority and supremacy, not just gender.

@kuoh @pmarin It’s only a planet if you look at it from space.
@pmarin I have a feeling that crews will be less than three people in the 25th century.
@aetris @pmarin
Wait… Isn’t that ‘Bones’?
@aetris @pmarin Brain and brain, what is brain?
@aetris @ItalianScallion @pmarin
You are not Eymorg, you are not Morg. What are you?
@macromeh
Murgh. murgh makhani.
@aetris @ItalianScallion @macromeh

@aetris @macromeh @pmarin I, for one, welcome our new iOverlords.
@pmarin
@aetris @ItalianScallion @pmarin Either way, I always thought it was a kind of cheesy riff on “Female” and “Male”. (C’mon writers, you can do better!)
@macromeh There was a LITTLE more to it than THAT! Otherwise they certainly would’ve recognized Kirk as Morg.
@aetris Presumably she recognized him as an alien (neither Morg nor Eymorg), since he didn’t look/dress/act much like the Morg homeboys.

@kuoh @zhicks1987
Whuut? We are on a planet? Where the Hell are we? How did we get here?
Google Lens thinks that’s Roy Schneider, James d o o h a n, and nobody knows
@Cerridwyn So much for our new AI overlords. I say it’s Roy Neary on the return trip.
@aetris @Cerridwyn Better get some mashed potatoes ready.
