@jouest@narfcake I remember, as a child, visiting my grandmother in Anaheim in the summer of 1965. At some point, we were in a car in LA and it was hot (no AC then). But if I rolled the window down, the smog was so bad it burned my eyes and throat, so I just sweated it out. Made an impression on a kid from rural Oregon.
@haydesigner As someone who’s lived in SoCal for all my life, yes I’m aware of that. The worst areas were in the valleys, the better areas were near the coast, the inland empire got progressively worse as the population increased, and the median has been the central areas, in which LA is part of. Thus, it was more consistent to find pics of LA’s smog than it was for SoCal.
@haydesigner@narfcake I was in Riverside once. Went to bed. It rained!!! In the morning I saw mountains I didn’t realize were there as they were not visible for the smog.
@narfcake, the areas you’re talking about are still highly LA-centric. There’s both Orange County to the south, and San Diego County even further south. That was my point.
From the looks of your background pic it appears that THE RAPTURE is coming soon!!
Strangely enough, a search for the heading brought up the song “Something In The Air” by a Contemporary Christian Music group called Truth with the following lyrics:
@yakkoTDI Well, Celebrimbor forged the rings and gave them to Gil-galad, Cirdan, and Galadriel. So the ringbearers were “given” the rings and were not involved in their making, no matter what the Amazon series shows.
If it was SoCal decades ago, I’d say it’s the smog.

@narfcake… LA does NOT equal SoCal.

@f00l @jouest So de smell was all in defeat.
@f00l @jouest Three were not given to the Elves. They were the ones that forged their three rings.
@yakkoTDI Well, Celebrimbor forged the rings and gave them to Gil-galad, Cirdan, and Galadriel. So the ringbearers were “given” the rings and were not involved in their making, no matter what the Amazon series shows.
Maybe it’s teen spirit?

@phendrick Seems appropriate for a Mehrathon:
“Here we are now, entertain us.”
