Great shots of bald eagles! I get the occasional one in the top of the oaks here, but have never gotten anything like a decent shot of one of them. Elusive critters.
I got hooked on the American Eagle Foundation (https://www.eagles.org/) nestcams earlier this year, and I do mean hooked. The DC cams showed 24/7 coverage of an established nest in its second year, from the building and refurbishing (winter was hard on it) to 2 eggs laid. Both hatched and flourished, and fans followed every single movement. AEC mods held chats on the site, and patiently answered questions. Now this year’s juveniles have apparently moved out, as they haven’t been seen at the nest for a few days. There is an established nest in NE Florida which is expected to start being visited around the end of August, and I’m looking forward to watching it. AEC has several slideshows of various nests and their occupants.
@OldCatLady I have been watched the Duke Farms nest cam for a few years now (I live about 2 miles from the nest.) They put up an infrared camera this year and are hoping to add sound for next season. I do pop in to DC cam (2 cameras!) a couple times a week. Too much drama at the other ones.
Great pictures! I am just a teensy bit jealous. We have eagles near me but not in my yard. The nests are not actively advertised to try and keep people from disturbing them.
Nice pics. I love watching the eagles around American Lake when we’re out fishing. Sometimes my husband has to holler at me to pay attention because I have a fish on, but didn’t notice because I was eagle watching. hehe.
Love watching the eagles in my neighborhood. There’s a nest on the next island and when there are young in the next, they start screeching at 5:00AM “FEED ME! FEED ME!” It’s quiet this year, but I got this shot out my front door when this guy landed on top of a spruce tree.

Such beautiful photos, thank you for sharing this. I have always loved Bald Eagles.
More than a few years back, I traveled to Rhinelander, WI, where we saw many eagle nests but no eagles… until the day we left to come home. There had to be about seven of them. Just amazing!
Beautiful…

Saw one on the bear cam recently, as well. Why do they look so majestic and commanding?
Amazing. Thanks.
(You’re in Western Washington?)

@RiotDemon Yeah, he sat there preening himself for about 15 minutes. And then, poof! He was gone.
