I’m all for comic book movies…both marvel and DC…but given the Joker’s character…that’s not a movie that needs to place him and his antics in any sort of “look at me” and emulate me position…I honestly would love a villain series…but not as a movie…let that be a netflix or hulu series
I like the casting of Robert De Niro as what appears to be a Johnny Carson like late night talk show host who has to deal with an insane comedian who wants to be on his show, since he’s been on the other side of that.
we’ll probably end up seeing it at home bc my partner will likely want to check it out. but ever since heath ledger’s joker, it seems like people are just trying to play him playing the joker. it doesn’t work. i’m also at full saturation for any more superhero universe stuff. it’s time to move on. i think black panther is really the only thing that kept the genre going. at least when it comes to marvel/dc anyway. i did enjoy the amazon series “the boys” and will check out the watchmen next month on hbo.
I never got into the superhero genre as it’s been forced down our throats for the last two decades; however, this new Joker movie looks great. I love Joaquin Phoenix and this movie looks character driven rather than the plot driven drivel that’s been the status quo for these types of movies. Also, I’m sucker for a backstory/prequel of any type.
First time I’ve heard about it.
You’re joking, right?
@2many2no
@2many2no @Gypsigirl213 now THAT’S the Joker!
It will be interesting to see if they can take a super hero (villain) movie and turn it into something with an actual story and character development.
@Tin_Foil Given what we’ve seen from this genre recently, I’m going with no.
Waiting for reviews
What happened to Jared Leto?
@hchavers God only knows.
I want to see it, but I also don’t want to be shot, so I might just wait until it comes out on home video.
if it’s from the same crowd that’s been cranking out all the other DC movies (exception for WW), then, no.
Never heard about it and sounds like the worst DC movie idea yet. And that’s saying something. They are a train wreck that keeps piling on.
No, I’m waiting for the Mister Mxyzptlk movie.

I’m actually looking forward to it…
/youtube joker trailer
@ethelthefrog as much as i dont want this villain to get a “hero” status for kids…i kinda like the direction this movie looks to be going
The trailer looks great.

I’m interested to see what comic book movie that isn’t paint by numbers looks like.

@jerk_nugget I liked The Boys, too, but that was one hell of cliffhanger, and I hate season-ending cliffhangers.

I like the Marvel movies. Not a fan of DC.
