Ginger-been at the pet rescue over a year as no one wanted to bird who picked her feathers. We did though as I felt sorry for her and they have started to grow back (although not sure what is growing back) with loving care and more favorable living conditions.
@ironcheftoni Sadly we had to euthanize Princess in late December as she had liver failure and was suffering. Even though Princess was not a friendly bird, we still loved her. When we went over to the bird sanctuary-asked them if the had any more eclectus parrots and the only one they had was Ginger. My wife looked at her and said no way she wanted a bird who was feather picker, but I said I wanted her as she had been there a long time. I won out. They said she was the sweetest bird and they were right. Not a mean bone in her body. Loves to get on our shoulders-even the 2nd day we had her. No idea how old she is, but she is probably a senior bird as vet said she had arthritis in one of h er wings and high cholesterol. But however long we have her, we at least feel her senior days will be enjoyed.
@Felton10 I’m so sorry to hear about dear Princess. I know you are giving Ginger the best and loving life no matter how long you get to have her in your lives.

Not sorry for making mom do this year’s home improvement purchase of new vertical blinds because she destroyed the old mini blinds
@ironcheftoni
Good thing she’s so cute!

@Felton10 with or without feathers, she’s beautiful! Do you think she will be a good companion for Princess eventually?
