The next meh-xchange
4Disclosure:
I don’t have the time to organize it.
I would like to participate even though I got ghosted last time.
I just wanted to get the ball rolling. Uphill.
You can call me Sisyphus.
It might be tight, but a St. Patrick’s day day might be fun.
I’m married to an Irish woman so it’s the next closest thing to Christmas for me.
One week to sign up. Two weeks to ship. Reveal with brisket and green beer!
Need to get started soon. Anyone want to get it going? I know life is busy. I apologize, but if someone has the time… I am so in.
I’ll even give a sneak peak into the book of CapnJB: Chapter four

I think that has been the problem. Previous organizers do not have time to organize it. In another thread I suggested a spring cleaning exchange. Exchange old crap for new crap kinda thing. And also falls near St. Paddy’s. Maybe the requirement be at least one green thing in the box?
Likewise, I will be happy to participate, but not coordinate. Life is busy at the ER and taking care of Mom. Maybe in the not-so-distant future if she moves up to be with my Sis, but not now.
If everyone is just as busy as me I can understand if this doesn’t get done.
BTW @capnjb you might want to bump this thread tomorrow or the next day as it will likely get buried in the -thon posts.
I’m going to be without shipping capability for two weeks starting next week, so I’m probably out for this round.
I think people need longer than a week to sign up. Some people only check in once a week or so and that how we get all those late stragglers. I’ve participated in the last 2 but have been here since 2019 and I always see way to many people sign up at the end or want to join after the fact bc they don’t see the post or pay enough attention. It almost needs to be up for like 2-3 weeks and have it be an Easter/spring cleaning one. People always need time to ship it out too bc some order specific items or make up special boxes also and bc life gets in the way.
/showme gift exchange gone terribly wrong, person crying
@mediocrebot You got the “gone terribly wrong” part right, you just applied it to the wrong section of the picture…
Sorry, didn’t mean to just throw this over the cubicle wall. I was just hoping to find that person who had had seven cups of coffee and was ready to jump in. April is good. May is as well. Every time I blink a month goes by so I didn’t want to be in October saying, mehbe we should do an exchange next year.
Complete transparency, I just really want to forget about getting ghosted.
(Mostly) true story: I once used “Sisyphus” as my login password on one of my Windows accounts. “Sysiphus” worked like a charm to give me security. “Sissyfus” kept everybody out, including me. I always had trouble remembering how to spell “Sisifus”. I wound up half the time going to Wikipedia just to see how to spell “Syssyphus” (of course, harder to look up if you can’t spell it, and Wikipedia is not very AI good at spelling).
I recommend it’s use.
@phendrick Now trending on Google Search: Sisyphus
edit- And I actually did twice cheat death
What is even happening?

@phendrick I appreciate your super reference.
I love participating in the Mehxchanges, but alas, I haven’t got the brain power to run it. I really liked when we used Elfster, though- seemed like that made it a little less complicated for the organizer.

@cf1 @lewisjackson
And it’s aimed at the site… Not the user!
@chienfou @lewisjackson I think MediocreBot is smarter than that.
