The meh offerings are what they use to be?
3I use to look forward to see what the day’s item would be. Over the past several months I haven’t been interested in many of the products. I’ve been a member for long time. I have the MVP status for the $5 a month. It was worth the free shipping. Now I don’t buy on a regular basis. I’m considering dropping out. I know once I’m out I can’t get back in. I’m curious if others feel the same way? Maybe its just my interests??

What were some of your favorites when you looked forward to it?
Seriously, @Dave is always looking for ideas and suggestions and rarely gets a response when he asks. He really wants to know so we can offer better stuff.
@Targaryen
I expect everybody to already know what I want, even before I want it.
And no, you cannot say that EVERYTHING sold by Meh is stuff that I’ll eventually want, because
someerrr…a lotok fine… MOST of the stuff is stuff that I’ll never have a use for.@dave Toys. I like toys. Especially electronic toys. FYI my kids are too old for toys so it has to be something I want to play with. I’m excited about my new zombie with removable parts.
@Targaryen @dave How long have I been asking for catshirts? And that’s catshirts, not cat, shirts. There’s a difference – and now I have to write to these folks too about! Grrrr!
@dave I like items that are both unusual and cheap. If it seems like it could be useful somehow, but that how isn’t immediately apparent, even better.
edit: Ideally, it will have a pretty significant discount as well. If it’s refurbished, 40% off or more. New, the discount matters less as long as the final price is low enough.
@dave after seeing the monkeybot video- I also like toys that are unusual but entertaining.
@dave knives, weird electronic gadgets, novelty stuff(maybe from Japan idk), a foodsaver, also I could use some cookware that’s compatible with my induction hot plate.
Maybe you could sell a sous vide bundle that was like a sous vide machine, a Coleman stacker style cooler, a food saver, some ping pong balls, and bag clips. Just some ideas, keep up the good work!
You can make use of your elite VMP status over at morningsave.com and casemates.com!
@medz I bet he’s a knife freak.
@sammydog01 or speaker dock fan boi
@sammydog01 I just ordered two more rainbow knives from budk.com because they are half the price I paid for my original.

Better photo.
I think a lot of us Meh fiends pretty much already bought all of the quirky stuff, random impulse buys, and WTF?!? crap over the years…
@shahnm This. I mean, I wouldn’t mind catshirts, but really, there’s only so many knives, speaker, vacuum cleaners, and fidget spinners one needs.
@narfcake
Much like my catshirt collection, one can never have too many speaker docks.
@narfcake @PlacidPenguin I can absolutely prove you wrong. I’m verging on being a speaker dock hoarder… And I don’t actually ever use any. I’m a Sonos guy.
@PlacidPenguin hmm I bet if you sign up to receive a box in the next mehrican exchange and someone stalks you here then you will get a speaker doc LOL
Hey @Dave any chance you could get me a deal on contigo mugs the one with the lock closures. Thanks
I’ve had similar thoughts and have been holding onto my MVP simply because I can’t get it back. It doesn’t cost much so I’m fine with it for now. Hoping things improve a bit soon though.
@billchase2 I look at my VMP fee as my small contribution to the operating costs which permit me to lurk in the forum. The occasional order has free shipping, but I seldom find anything I’m interested in buying, so I play in the forums instead.
@dave Would love to see good AAA batteries, rechargable batteries, and zip lock bags (again). I need those bags!!!
@mfladd But then they’d also have to sell fridges again. In case some of the folks who want batteries don’t have their own fridges to store them in. Meh needs to be thoughtful and considerate here.
@mfladd God yes, the ziploc bags! Down to the last box, I think (I mean, a whole bunch were ruined in our massive flood last year, but still, we need more).
@mfladd yes
I’m pretty sure when I realize I don’t like something any more, whether a Web site or a TV show or a food or whatever, it’s usually because I’ve changed (or gotten burned out or something).
I already bought three things here this month.
At this rate April will be expensive.
@Dave things I’d like:
Moar bubbas
Light up stuff
Garage organization
Random fantasy creature figurines
There was a stretch there where it seemed like months of the same stuff over and over. Crappy earbuds, BT speakers, speaker docs, leaky batteries, cheap pocket knives, and those mini quadcopters. Over and over, identical merch. I got very bored with the sales.
Honestly though, I feel like the offers of late have been fewer retreads, and more unique, rando stuff. It’s not rare for me to look at the day’s sale and think “wow, I didn’t expect that.” Although there hasn’t been that much which compelled me to purchase, but it is less repetitive and therefore not as boring.
Stuff I wouldn’t mind buying:
Something similar to the Oregon Scientific emergency radios with solar, crank, battery and AC power. Kaito, Midland, Eton, Sangean… good quality and lots of features.
Wall mounted 6 or 8 outlet AC multi tap. The kind that replaces the faceplate on an outlet. Surge suppression and wifi not desired. Just a twofer, plain old multi outlet gadget. I want one for every outlet in my house!
More name brand electronics. Big monitors, tablets, GoPro cameras, GPS/Dash Cam combo, DJI drones, and why not a good factory refurbished unlocked phone too? Pixel, Galaxy 7, Moto something, LG… I’ve been burned enough on the Chinasian stuff sold here, I’d rather spend a few more bucks for quality and engineering.
Today’s sale of a Home Decorators Collection Merwry 52" Fan is a prime example of one of those times when I think “oh, I didn’t expect to see that”. First ever ceiling fan. There was a Vornado about 2 mos. after meh went live, and those silly animal fans and USB power bank fans, but this is the first ceiling fan.
I want stuff that’s unquestionably awesome (but for some reason I haven’t heard of before), of impeccable quality and workmanship, thoroughly useful, appreciated (or at least not outright scorned) by my wife, relatively compact, interesting and attractive to behold, and priced at a point that makes me auto-buy 3.
Can you get some of those?
@shahnm meh can likely send you a bag of goat feed since you apparently aren’t using your batteries to keep the goat thread supercharged. In fact I know they can as someone got some in an early fuku…
I want more food. more candy. More treats. Pretty please
/giphy more yummies
I think it is the same crap, it’s just no longer priced correctly.
fukU’s
Ok @Dave you surprised me today. The fan was very unexpected
