@Wiggles Unfortunately I have had only meh cheese curds, and those only once. On the border you don't find much food that's not drenched in chile sauce of one form or another. Subtle flavors are not popular here.
How the hell should I know.. I didn't even have a chance to buy one and find out. Some kinda record, gone in less than 30 clicks. You want more buyers.. store more junk.
치느님(Chicken the God) is the flying spaghetti monster of South Korea. No one can deny the divine Fried Chicken. I am not kidding, it is a religious phenomenon there... And of course I agree with my fellow countrymen.
Obviously, not enough people have tried fried Twinkies. Otherwise it would be number one. However, like others have said, there are many fried items missing from that list. Basically, you can fry anything and 99.999% of the time, it will be amazing. I think we all win.
@bluedyn This map makes no sense. Fried pop tarts in PA? Deep-fried Buckeyes in DE?? Buckeyes clearly belong in OH. And, it should be fried cheesesteaks or scrapple in PA and fried Pizza in NY. Fail.
@jsh139 I'm guessing it's based on state fairs, because I can vouch for the deep-fried Thanksgiving dinner. It's TASTY. (We also had fried Kool-Aid, fried butter, fried Snickers, and fried alligator on a stick, all attributed to other states.) But yeah, the corn dog beats it by a mile in popularity here. I'm really using this as more of a to-try list.
Deep Fried Chocolate Maple Bacon AmazeBallz - Seriously, had them at the Texas State Fair a few weeks back - 14 Coupons ($7) for 3 of them and worth it.
This just popped up the list due to recent posts and I had to laugh. My nephew was just talking tonight about a place near us that makes deep fried pizza.
Uhhhhh, I think I need to see that. Not to eat it; more like morbid curiosity.
Ya can't beat an old favorite.
agreed. all this stuff is excellent, but the #1 item in my fryer is wings. (though the ones pictured here don't look particularly good)
As a purist I’m an appalled at the “breading” on these so called wings.
@LadyLeela ^ that ^
@jsh139
Artisan Tater Tots.
@ChadP Suddenly I want to create a Food Or Band Name meme.
Pretty much anything from the Iowa State Fair
@lichme Of all the times I have been to the Iowa State Fair (I live in Des Moines), I have never tried any of the fried foods.
Cheesecake covered in corn flakes.
Chicken fried speaker docks
Tator tots are making me want to buy this, but my cholesterol levels are screaming Nooooo!
Anything from the Minnesota State Fair comes to mind as well!
Donuts, duh.
@kataRandy exactly why I decided to post today. How could doughnuts be left off this list? Oh, and funnel cake.
@steffej3 +1 Funnel cake
Deep fried pickles are literally heaven.
Hot Dogs at Rutt's Hut in Clifton , NJ
@somf69 You know Rutt's???? Mmmm....rippers.... Hubby and I always say, "All roads lead to Rutt's"
Oreos.
Mango pieces. No batter. Crispy golden yum.
@riveryeti Well, darn. I wish I would have seen this before they sold out - I would like to try that!
Fresh curds!
Why yes, I'm from Wisconsin. How'd you guess?
@WINTERMUTE one has not lived until they have tried good cheese curds
@Wiggles Unfortunately I have had only meh cheese curds, and those only once. On the border you don't find much food that's not drenched in chile sauce of one form or another. Subtle flavors are not popular here.
@WINTERMUTE Never had fried cheese curds, but I've had Poutine, which is awesome.
@WINTERMUTE no whey!
@nadroj Yes whey! You need it to get the flour to stick. :)
I had to say chicken. I was subliminally influenced by today's drumstick face. ( I see I'm not alone, @jsh139).
Fried Pickles...dip them in chipotle ranch sauce and wow.....
How the hell should I know.. I didn't even have a chance to buy one and find out. Some kinda record, gone in less than 30 clicks. You want more buyers.. store more junk.
Falafel
@eslabs1 The little falafel footballs are SO good!
Everyone who didn't vote for fried turkey has clearly never had a deep fried turkey on Thanksgiving.
How could fried dough not make default list? I thought this was a site for the discerning Internet denizen, not the riff-raff.
@Calobi Yes, I came in to post funnel cake. Leaving it off the list of options is a disgrace. A disgrace!
@Calobi Right?! With powdered sugar and cinnamon... yummee
Bacon Bombs, duh. http://www.ohbiteit.com/2013/04/cheesy-bacon-bombs.html
@Mattroid oh wow....now I'm hungry
Cookie dough. I actually did this once. It was bliss.
Oh no don't make me choose!! That being said, I rely upon fried chicken to keep my figure round.
Don't judge.
Bacon. Mac & Cheese. EGG ROLLS.
But really, all of the above are valid and correct. Because being an adult means putting whatever you want in hot oil.
. . . also worth mentioning, I miss Bennigans' Broccoli Bites somethin fierce.
Fried Chicken.

Guys you're all wrong. It's obviously corndogs. No frills, just your plain old corn battered wieners on a stick.
Cheese curds! Balls of cheese coated in batter and fried is amazing! Stop by a Culver's if you don't believe me.
Kinda craving a good ole' Bloomin Onion now.
@Cinoclav
For me it's a toss up between deep fried candy bars and deep fried pickles.
How did Donuts not make this list???
I enjoy a wide variety of fried foods, but I am a huge fan of good french fries, the kind that were still a potato when I entered the restaurant.
Onion rings... Battered, not breaded. And funnel cake. And funnel cake battered onion rings.
Not sure why I'm even mildly surprised that this is one of our most contentious and popular polls.
@JonT Good old US of A, home of the KFC Double Down.
@bluedyn This map makes no sense. Fried pop tarts in PA? Deep-fried Buckeyes in DE?? Buckeyes clearly belong in OH. And, it should be fried cheesesteaks or scrapple in PA and fried Pizza in NY. Fail.

@bluedyn Ah, well then that puts a whole different paint job on things.
@jsh139 It's Deep Fried Pizza in Delaware (which might be the only way to make DE pizza taste good) and Deep Fried Buckeyes in Maryland.
@Cinoclav Ah, good catch. Still didn't make sense to me when Maryland is known for crabs ya know?
@jsh139 Especially in Baltimore. You're quite likely to get crabs there...
Korean KFCs now have this fried deliciousness called the "Zinger Double Down King". Apparently it comes with a free Angioplasty.
@jsh139 That looks absolutely disgu... I want one.
@jsh139 -do you want meat on that?
@KDemo I must say, it's missing something... oh yeah, more meat!
The nice thing about this thread is that everyone's right.
@editorkid You know what, you're right. Delicious fried foods bring everyone together, you can't be wrong.
@JonT I have already started nagging people on Ello to throw a fried food party. Finally Ello has a purpose.
Fried beer at the Texas state fair.
@TheBear what is this fried beer you speak of??
Potato chips! I love homemade potato chips! I can only make about a dozen at a time because my deep fryer is so tiny....
Fried pickled cumquats.
Deep Fried Chocolate Maple Bacon AmazeBallz - Seriously, had them at the Texas State Fair a few weeks back - 14 Coupons ($7) for 3 of them and worth it.
Get them here and deep fry them at home
http://www.getamazeballz.com/flavors.html
Deep Fried Ice Cream.
While I can't understand the absence of the obvious doughnut, I must represent for New Mexico with sopapillas! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/15/sopapillas-fried-dough-stuffed_n_3071765.html
Deep fried jalapeno Twinkie.
@medz Or a five year old thread.
@mike808 what is your point?
Not sure if they put the jalapeno slices in the twinkle before or after frying. Pretty good, though.
This just popped up the list due to recent posts and I had to laugh. My nephew was just talking tonight about a place near us that makes deep fried pizza.
Uhhhhh, I think I need to see that. Not to eat it; more like morbid curiosity.
@ybmuG
/youtube hellthyjunkfood deep fried pizza
@RiotDemon Wow. I just can’t speak.
Or even THINK about eating
@RiotDemon So I found the actual restaurant. It is fried crust, then made like a regular pizza. This one I might be able to do.
